Tutu Tuesday in L'Islet-sur-Mer, Quebec: A Whirlwind of Tulle and Tradition #tututuesday Hey dance lovers, This week I decided to break out the tulle and take my tutu-wearing shenanigans to the beautiful seaside town of L'Islet-sur-Mer, Quebec. This little slice of Canadian charm nestled on the shores of the St. Lawrence River is the perfect setting for a Tutu Tuesday adventure. And boy, did I have a whirlwind of fun! As a ballet dancer, there's nothing more iconic than a tutu. It's more than just a garment; it’s a symbol of grace, beauty, and the timeless art of dance. So, when I decided to explore #tututuesday in this historic town, I knew it would be an adventure to remember. L'Islet-sur-Mer has a rich maritime history, so my first stop was the charming harbor. I couldn't resist posing with a vibrant, multi-layered **Romantic tutu** – the kind that swirls and dances as you move, mimicking the playful waves of the St. Lawrence. The wind picked up, and I felt like a fairy caught in a sea breeze. This was pure magical moments! I definitely captured some stunning Instagrammable pictures and stories there. I got so many compliments and the other tourists, residents, and passers-by just loved it! There was one family in particular, the little girl was enthralled and they even got a picture of all of them with me in my tutu. Such sweet memories of a small-town embrace! From the harbor, I decided to take a walk through the historic streets, where 19th-century architecture stands proudly alongside the more modern buildings. I picked a **Classical tutu**, its soft layers flowing in a gentle cascade. Its simple elegance echoed the architectural charm surrounding me. Every now and then, a shopkeeper or resident would come out and say, "Bonjour!" and strike up a conversation, charmed by the vision of a tutu prancing along the sidewalk. That's the beauty of small towns – that warm, welcoming community spirit. It felt like we were all united in celebrating a bit of art and whimsical flair. A Dance at the Old Mill L'Islet-sur-Mer is renowned for its picturesque windmills, so I couldn’t resist taking a peek at the famous “Moulin de L'Islet” mill. Its history dates back to 1785, and the mill's unique, ancient structure was the perfect backdrop for another outfit change. This time, I embraced the historical spirit with a **traditional tutu**. You know, the one that evokes classic ballet performances – elegant, sophisticated, and with a touch of timelessness. My skirt swished against the rough stone wall of the mill, whispering stories of bygone eras. I felt a little bit like a Victorian era ballet dancer stepping out into a historical narrative! Of course, a lot of tourists were milling about (literally) the old mill so they also snapped up opportunities for pictures with me. I think I even inspired some folks to start their own #tututuesday. My tutu adventures continued, and the town truly surprised me with its variety and history. L'Islet-sur-Mer's beauty is not just confined to its waterfront and old town. From Waterfront Promenade to Majestic Views After a little stroll around the promenade, where families picnicked and artists created, I ventured up to a hill overlooking the town. This time, I slipped into a **contemporary tutu**, its unconventional design with an edgy edge mirroring the vibrant colours and artistic energy I felt in L'Islet-sur-Mer. I had so much fun getting photos in that one - lots of creative poses against a bright sky and beautiful backdrop! Here, with views of the river and the sprawling town below, I felt a surge of artistic inspiration. I'm definitely going to include this place in some of my future dance routines and choreographies. Imagine the possibilities with the wind rushing past, the views stretching out, and the sun shining down… It's breathtaking!
