Tutu Tuesday in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan, Ontario, Canada #tututuesday

Hey fellow dance lovers, it’s your girl, Chloe here! I’m back again with another #tututuesday blog post, and this week, we’re taking the tutus to the countryside. No, not that kind of countryside (although, who wouldn't want to see a Tutu-clad ballerina twirling through a field of wheat?). Today, we're exploring the charm of Brudenell, Lyndoch, and Raglan, three quaint towns nestled in the heart of Ontario's beautiful Kawartha Lakes region. I recently found myself on a whirlwind adventure, and what better way to soak in the beauty of this region than with a tutu and some well-timed pirouettes, eh? Let’s just say my #tututuesday vibes are high, and you can bet I’ll be channeling them into my daily life back in Toronto!

This picturesque region is known for its stunning natural beauty: rolling hills, glistening lakes, and a network of quaint towns and villages brimming with history. There’s just something so captivating about small-town Ontario. You can feel a sense of community and togetherness here, and trust me, I’m already planning a visit with the girls next year.

So, what does a tutu-tastic #tututuesday adventure look like in this part of Ontario? Imagine this:

  • **Brudenell:** Picture a graceful promenade down Brudenell’s charming main street, my tutu a delicate ballet-pink. I stopped at the adorable Village Butcher Shop (best sausage I've ever had, I’m not kidding) and did a quick fouette in front of the Brudenell Library, a classic wooden structure with a welcoming aura.
  • **Lyndoch:** Lyndoch welcomed me with open arms and breathtaking vistas of the Kawartha Lakes. Here, my classic single-layered white tutu twirled flawlessly as I explored the historic Lyndoch House, which feels straight out of a period film. A moment of pause, I thought, "Where is my chaperone when I need him?" It was truly magical, even without the romantic element of a bygone era. I couldn’t resist a quick relevé in front of the towering red maple tree in front of the Village Green – an ode to Canadian nature!
  • **Raglan:** With a tutu bursting with intricate details (Think: delicate sequins, sheer netting, and tulle for days), I hit the pavement in Raglan. I felt like I was living my best ballerina life on the Raglan House trail. It offered breathtaking views and picturesque walking trails for the best photo opportunities - those are for my Insta, of course!
    • But Tutu Tuesday is more than just photo ops and pirouettes. It’s about celebrating dance and beauty in the everyday. It’s about taking the time to notice the wonder in the world around us, even amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Ontario's ballet scene has a special place in my heart. It is so diverse, embracing everything from traditional classical dance to contemporary movements and everything in between. When I'm not at home, I love soaking up the energy in the studios here. From the young students finding their love of movement to seasoned dancers with years of experience under their belts, every ballet studio holds a piece of my own history as a ballerina.

In the countryside, amidst the tranquility of small-town Ontario, the spirit of dance is even more poignant. It’s about finding the joy in movement, embracing the natural beauty of our surroundings, and connecting with our inner grace.

So, whether you're a seasoned ballerina, a dance enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates a little bit of twirling magic in their life, join me this #tututuesday and let's find the dance in the everyday!
