Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Quebec #tututuesday
Hey everyone! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another post from the heart of Canada. This week, I'm channeling my inner ballerina and celebrating the beautiful artistry of the tutu in a little town called Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Quebec.
Now, before you think I'm taking a break from ballet, I'm not! I just couldn't resist bringing the magic of tutus to this charming little town. It's a place with so much beauty and history, just waiting to be explored. You know, like the way I see it when I dance in a grand, sweeping tutu! The elegance of it allā¦
And let's face it, a Tutu Tuesday outfit is practically begging for a photoshoot. So, I packed up my classic romantic tutu, complete with a layer of soft tulle and delicate ribbons. It's one of my go-to looks when I want to feel both whimsical and refined, and I think it fits perfectly with the atmosphere here in Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon.
I even made sure to wear it with a vintage jacket, to keep the Quebec winter chill out while staying on trend! Who says ballerinas can't do edgy too?
As for the rest of my ensemble, well, Iām wearing a sleek pair of classic black ballet flats. Not gonna lie, sometimes I wish I could get away with dancing in them. You can never go wrong with a good ballet flat. They add a touch of sophistication to any outfit.
Let's get real, I also have to rock my trusty faux fur-lined bomber jacket. Keeping warm is crucial for this time of year. That way, I can feel comfy and glamorous simultaneously. And it adds some pop colour, as if we needed any more. š
Speaking of colour, did I tell you that this area is full of stunning foliage in fall? My photoshoot at the iconic Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon park was full of breathtaking, vivid colour contrasts - the warm hues of the leaves against my pastel blue tulle and my jacketā¦ Let's just say it was a fairytale come to life.

- The Classic Swan Lake pose: Honestly, who hasn't dreamed of gracefully gliding across the stage as Odette or Odile in Swan Lake? Okay, maybe you havenāt, but we're aiming for the elegant, swan-like pose. In my favourite picture from this photoshoot, I captured the timeless grace of a swan. My classic tutu with its billowing layers flows effortlessly around me as I stand on a bridge surrounded by the brilliant autumn foliage, truly representing a romantic ballerina at her finest.
- A playful "ballet" jump. Even in my ballet flats, I managed to pull off an unexpected jump. Not that it's quite as epic as the soaring jumps youād see at a professional ballet performance. I kept it grounded (and safe), but the joy of the jump captured perfectly in my shot with my jacket. And just wait till you see the foliage. Justā¦ wait.
- A soft and graceful pose in front of the old Quebec stone wall. Every dancer knows a good, slow pliĆ© looks more majestic than it actually is. With the ancient stone walls as my backdrop, my tutu flows around my feet like liquid velvet and with a simple, graceful pliĆ©, the photo just radiates charm and magic, embodying all that's good about ballet. And Iām totally taking credit for my choice in background; because, honestly, those walls are gorgeous.
As much as Iād like to claim to have masterminded the shoot by myself, there was some helpā¦ My bestie took all these wonderful pictures. She really captures my essence on camera. Between the picturesque scenery, the autumnal magic of Quebec, the charming quaintness of Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, and the grace and joy of my ballet attire - we ended up with the perfect Tutu Tuesday collection!
The way I see it, itās not just about wearing the tutu but embracing the spirit of ballet - which is about dedication, grace, passion, and a bit of whimsical joy. You know, I actually like to say āa lotā of whimsical joy. So, if you're ever feeling down, just channel your inner ballerina.
