Let’s talk tutus. It was a feast for the eyes. Classical tulle, the perfect silhouette. I spotted some romantic Romantic tutus – the ones with a longer skirt. Of course, I loved seeing some funky variations in design and colour – think shimmering gold, rich plum, even vibrant coral. There were shorter versions of the tutus with big ruffles, perfect for all those twirls and grand jetés. And don't forget about the variations, with intricate detailing, different fabrics and different lengths. All the ladies looked like ballet ballerinas. They showed off their tutus as if they were being photographed for Vogue.
As I weaved through the crowd, I was struck by the genuine warmth and camaraderie. Strangers became friends over a shared love of dance, fashion, and all things elegant. There were chats about favourite tutu styles, where to buy the best pointe shoes, and even a spirited discussion about the merits of different ballet schools across Canada – I told you, these people were serious about their ballet!
