Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis, Quebec: A Whirlwind of Fashion and Dance

Hey everyone, it's your girl, Marie-Claire, back with another Tutu Tuesday post. This week, I'm bringing you a little bit of ballet magic from the picturesque town of Saint-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis, Quebec. As you all know, Canada has a rich history of ballet, and Quebec, in particular, boasts an impressive number of dance studios and passionate ballet enthusiasts. So, naturally, this week's Tutu Tuesday had to be a celebration of dance in all its forms.

But first, let's talk tutus. Oh, how I love a good tutu! Today, I'm sporting a romantic and ethereal classic: a two-tiered, soft pink tulle tutu with delicate embellishments. It's a little bit princess, a little bit ballerina, and a whole lot of fabulous. For a little bit of edgy fun, I paired it with a vintage denim jacket, and a chunky silver necklace. It's a style fusion that's perfect for embracing the beauty of Tutu Tuesday in a Canadian city like Saint-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis.

Now, about the dance scene here in Saint-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis! My first stop was the Centre des Arts de la Vallée, where I got to chat with some truly amazing local dancers. They're passionate about ballet and eager to share their love of the art form. One of the things that struck me about the local dance scene is the emphasis on inclusivity. Everyone, regardless of age, background, or experience level, is welcome. It's truly inspiring to see the community coming together to support ballet.

Next up was a ballet workshop, taught by one of the most renowned choreographers in the province. Let's just say it was an amazing learning experience! We delved into various techniques and styles, and even worked on a new choreography. Everyone in the workshop had a genuine passion for ballet and it made for an incredibly inspiring environment.

My favourite part of Tutu Tuesday was definitely the "Ballet for Beginners" class at the town square. I watched as people of all ages and sizes gracefully stepped out of their comfort zone and took to the pavement in tutus! There was so much laughter and good energy; you could tell that this class was more than just a physical activity, it was a chance for people to connect, celebrate life, and embrace the joy of movement.

What's Tutu Tuesday all about, you ask? For me, it's a chance to express my love for dance in all its forms and connect with other people who share that passion. It's also about encouraging everyone to get outside their comfort zone and embrace a bit of fun. This is a perfect chance to try out a new style of dance or just wear a tutu out for a stroll around town. You don't need to be a professional dancer to appreciate the beauty of a tutu!

Tutu Tuesday isn't about following specific rules; it's about creating a day for everyone to embrace their own unique style, creativity and inner-ballerina. Don't forget to snap a pic and share it with the world using #Tututuesday. We'll be sure to check out all the amazing tutu creations coming in from all over. And as we saw in Saint-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis, Canada, Tutu Tuesday is a wonderful reminder that ballet and dance are not only accessible to all, but also can bring a community together in a powerful and heartwarming way.

Here are some of my favorite Tutu Tuesday style ideas to inspire you!

  • The Romantic Tutu: Flowing layers of tulle, adorned with ribbons, sequins, or lace. Perfect for twirling under the summer sky! Pair it with a simple flowy blouse and a delicate pair of sandals.
  • The Modern Tutu: Short, flirty, and perfectly suited for urban dance floors. Try pairing it with a leather jacket, bold boots, and some statement jewellery.
  • The Eclectic Tutu: The beauty of Tutu Tuesday lies in the fusion of styles. Go for a mix of textures and colors for an exciting twist! Think classic tutu combined with a punk rock shirt or a sleek black mini-dress paired with an airy pastel tutu.
  • The Everyday Tutu: If you're not ready to rock a full-on tutu, start with a touch of inspiration. Throw on a tulle skirt over your jeans, pair a tulle scarf with your favorite outfit or simply tie a tulle ribbon around your wrist!

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your favorite tutu and get out there. Share your #Tututuesday looks with the world and let's make it a day to remember! #Tututuesday #SaintMaximeduMontLouis #Quebec #BalletInCanada
