Cobalt, Ontario: A Tutu Tuesday in the North #tututuesday

Hey everyone, it's your girl, Amelia, back with another installment of my fashion adventures! This week, I'm taking you to a place where you wouldn't expect to find a tutu: the charming, historic town of Cobalt, Ontario. And let me tell you, this little gem in the heart of the Canadian Shield held a surprise in store for me - a delightful tutu Tuesday!

Now, I know what you're thinking: Cobalt? That's way up north! What on earth could possibly connect a small town in northern Ontario with the world of tutus and ballet? Well, as it turns out, Cobalt has a secret: a strong connection to the performing arts, including ballet. I mean, can you believe it? It's true. Just a little hidden gem. The folks up north certainly know how to have fun and show some appreciation for art, and tutus have a way of making even the simplest event feel extra special.

This Tuesday, I decided to throw on a classic, **pale pink tulle tutu** – the kind that whispers dreams of Swan Lake and Giselle. You know, the one you want to wear for an impromptu pirouette in a park or while doing a ballet inspired photo shoot on the boardwalk, like I did.

But the most exciting thing about this #tututuesday wasn't my tutu (although it did draw some pretty impressed stares from the locals!). The most amazing part of this adventure was the welcoming and warm community vibe. I felt right at home. There I was, a small town girl at heart in a big-city ballerina costume - and everyone made me feel like a true local. I met the kindest souls at the Cobalt Theatre, people who, for example, had seen me rocking my **tutu** while snapping some photos at the beautiful historic theatre. Everyone there has a story to tell about this small-town community’s rich history and culture.

So, you're probably thinking, what kind of events in a tiny northern town would involve a tutu? Here’s the thing, it's about finding the extraordinary in the everyday.

  • The cobalt town museum
  • A local music festival
  • Even just a stroll through the main street and enjoying a cup of coffee

Cobalt proved that you don't need a grand ballet company to embrace the magic of a tutu. In fact, the very simplicity and unexpected nature of it all is what makes a tutu Tuesday in Cobalt so wonderfully special. The warmth of the locals, the natural beauty of the surroundings, and my trusty tutu created a truly unforgettable day.

Whether you're a seasoned dancer, a fashion enthusiast, or simply looking for an excuse to embrace your inner sparkle, Cobalt invites you to come join the fun!

Stay tuned for more #tututuesday adventures from Amelia in the Great White North! This is my city, Cobalt Ontario.
