Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage, Quebec: A Tutu-ful Day Out!

Hey everyone, it's your friendly neighbourhood ballerina, back with another Tutu Tuesday blog post! This week, I took my tutu obsession to the quaint little town of Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage in Quebec. Now, you might be thinking, "What's a tutu doing in Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage?" And I say, "Why not?"

I mean, come on, who doesn't love a little bit of twirling and whimsy in their lives, no matter where they are? I’m convinced tutus have the magical power to transform any ordinary day into a tutu-ful adventure! Besides, Quebec is where my ballet roots are planted deep - so much inspiration from Canadian ballerinas, you wouldn't believe! But, more on that later!

This Tuesday, I opted for a romantic, classic style tutu with layers of delicate tulle. You know, the kind that makes you feel like you could float on a cloud of fairy dust! I paired it with a chic black sweater and my trusty ballet flats (gotta be comfy, folks!).

The day was sunny, with just a hint of a chill in the air. Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage was, like, the epitome of picturesque! Think charming cobblestone streets, cute little boutiques, and the kind of old-world architecture that makes you want to grab your camera and take a million pictures. It was truly a place that embraced its history, and it gave me serious wanderlust, I'll tell ya.

As I wandered the streets, I couldn’t resist twirling here and there. It's a habit, I guess. But it did turn heads! Every time, I felt a little thrill of confidence as people smiled and chuckled. It was almost as if everyone was saying, "Hey, you go, girl! Rock that tutu!”

And oh boy, the boutiques! You won’t believe what treasures I found. Think vintage dresses and antique hats that felt straight out of a Jane Austen novel. My shopping bag ended up overflowing with must-have vintage gems, from a lace handkerchief to a whimsical broach! You know me - always on the hunt for anything vintage that I can pair with my favourite tutus, and it’s just such a vibe!

But the day didn’t end there! I decided to grab a warm drink and a croissant at the local cafe. Nothing says "Tutu Tuesday in Quebec" like a cafe au lait in the afternoon sun, right? Plus, there was this charming elderly couple in the corner, hand-in-hand. Their faces were illuminated by pure joy. Seeing that really put a smile on my face – reminds me of those dreamy, carefree ballet evenings at the local theatre! And who doesn’t love a good ballet? Canadian or not, ballet is a powerful art, and everyone should experience its magic at least once!

So, here’s my #TutuTuesday message: Don’t be afraid to embrace the silly, the whimsical, the fabulous! Go out there, find your happy place, twirl, and be your best self, even in the most unexpected places.
