Tutu Tuesday in Bentley, Alberta: A Whirlwind of Fashion and Dance

Hey everyone! It's your favourite Canadian ballerina and blogger here, ready to share a little bit of tutu-tastic fun with you all. This week, I'm taking you to a place I've been meaning to explore for ages: Bentley, Alberta. I was so excited to spend #tututuesday surrounded by the warmth of this charming little town, where I discovered a real passion for all things tutu โ€“ even in the heart of prairie Canada!

My tutu adventures in Bentley started at the local dance studio. It wasn't your typical city studio; this was something special, tucked away in a beautifully preserved building that held echoes of generations past. I was greeted with the sweetest smiles, and everyone was eager to share stories about ballet in Bentley. Apparently, the love for this art form is as strong here as it is in big city studios! It made me realize that passion for ballet truly transcends geographic boundaries, and that's a pretty powerful feeling.

Now, onto the tutu fun! In a nod to tradition, I had to try on a classic Romantic tutu โ€“ the one with the billowing layers of tulle that almost make you want to float. But honestly, it was just too "boudoir" for me. The Romantic tutu is meant to be whimsical, airy, and dreamlike, but I was searching for something more modern, more edgy. And Bentley had the answer!

I spent the afternoon trying on different tutu styles, and here's a peek at some of my favourites:

  • **The โ€œHigh Lowโ€ Tutu:** Think short, chic, and versatile. I rocked this tutu on the town โ€“ perfect for a casual stroll through Bentley's historic downtown and grabbing a hot chocolate at the local cafe. It was all about that statement length, contrasting the shorter front with a flowy, long back, and it added such a dramatic flair to my whole outfit.
  • **The Modern โ€œWrapโ€ Tutu:** This was my "city-slicker" style. It's so contemporary with its streamlined silhouette โ€“ it's literally just a piece of fabric wrapped around your waist โ€“ perfect for any day-to-day activity. I could see myself pairing it with leather leggings, a cool graphic tee, and boots for a super stylish and effortless look.
  • **The โ€œEdgyโ€ Tutu:** Now this was my ultimate pick for a "Bentley vibe." This tutu incorporated elements like tulle overlays and unconventional layers, even some lace here and there โ€“ super creative! It embodied this fun, playful energy that the town has โ€“ not too traditional, a little edgy and always evolving, much like my personal style!

Exploring the fashion side of Bentley was one part of my tutu-tastic day, but it was the community that truly made it memorable. Meeting dancers of all ages and hearing about their ballet journey, seeing the joy on the faces of kids discovering dance for the first time โ€“ it reminded me why I fell in love with this art form in the first place.

This trip was more than just a fashion exploration, it was about rediscovering the heart of dance, and how it can flourish in unexpected places, like this quaint town in Alberta. And trust me, it's thriving there! I was genuinely touched by the energy and spirit I felt in Bentley and its people. So, my fellow ballet lovers and fashionistas โ€“ wherever you are, remember that #tututuesday isnโ€™t just about the tutu, it's about the journey, the memories, and the community that surrounds it all!

Stay tuned for more tutu adventures as I continue my #tututuesday quest โ€“ I have a feeling there's a whole world of fun waiting to be explored!
