Tutu Tuesday in Chester: A Whirlwind of Twirling and Trends

Ah, Chester. The quaint, charming city with its Roman walls and cobblestone streets, has a hidden secret - a love for ballet! And you know what day I discovered this? #TutuTuesday, of course. Let me tell you, this Tuesday was anything but ordinary. The day started like any other, a symphony of stretches, pliĂ©s, and the soft murmur of the music room. But then, the thought hit me – I need a little #Tutuesday in my life. The classic "Romantic Tutu," the romantic elegance and gossamer fabric that floats around your legs, would have been so lovely in the ancient city. Or maybe something a bit more contemporary, a "modern Tutu" perhaps, with its angular lines and bold designs that would clash wonderfully against the medieval architecture. My head buzzing with tutus, I threw on a bright "layered tulle skirt", picked out a fabulous bright blouse, and set off for my very own "Tutu Tuesday" in Chester.

Now, the day started off in true "Tutu Tuesday" fashion - an Instagram post announcing my adventure! #Chester #Tutuesday. My friends loved it and commented with enthusiasm. As the sun climbed in the sky, I decided it was time to embrace the "Tutu Tuesday" theme wholeheartedly! With every fluttering fabric swirl and step, the town took on a whimsical, fairytale-like feel, and guess what? People loved it! Smiling at each twirl, giving a playful spin for passerbyers, and of course, some well-placed “tutusies” for extra flair. Chester’s history breathed life into my dance steps. The echoes of Roman legionnaires seemed to blend with the pirouette rhythm, while medieval whispers mixed with the ethereal feel of my twirling tutu skirt.

Here are the highlights from my Tutu Tuesday, just for you, darling readers:

  • Breakfast at The Coffee Beanery: My first pitstop – Coffee Beanery, with its delicious aromas and cosy atmosphere. I treated myself to their "Tutu" - their speciality pancake creation. It was stacked high with fluffy, light pancakes, dripping with a thick, decadent chocolate sauce, just like a beautifully designed tutu! And you can bet I "twirled" into their quaint, brick-walled nook to take a delightful #Tutuesday selfie, too! #TutuTuesdayeats #Chester
  • Chester Cathedral: Majestic, historic, and oh-so-breathtaking. Chester Cathedral is one of those places that holds its breath until you set foot inside. And walking through its arches, its towering pillars, and past stained-glass windows felt like stepping onto a stage set for a ballet performance! You know, that kind where they start with a soft, hushed beginning and then slowly build to a grand finale, that’s how I felt. Every time I spun, my layered skirt billowed around my ankles, like a celestial cloud against the stained-glass windows. I imagined myself performing for an adoring crowd, or being swept away by a knight in shining armour, or at least a romantic poet, after my breathtaking finale.
  • Grosvenor Park: The heart of Chester - its stunning green expanse, its gentle pond reflecting the azure skies, the park seemed alive with the melody of my twirls. The playful swish of the tutu skirt against the delicate greenery was magical. For a few minutes, my thoughts danced among the pink and white blossoms of the cherry trees and with every movement I felt like an airy, light, and completely enchanting being. My feet seemed to lift me above the ground.
  • Tutu Shopping Spree: After a fun and spontaneous visit to "The Dressing Room", I went on a little "Tutu Shopping Spree." With the help of the lovely staff, we chose the perfect dress that gave the appearance of a "contemporary tutu," - modern and fabulous! But there was just something about that delicate, elegant "Romantic Tutu", that just felt utterly magical, you know? It reminded me why I love ballet - it’s elegant, it’s feminine, it’s pure grace. I even indulged in a pair of “pointe shoes," (after a lot of “oh, yes!” and “oooohs,” of course) just for fun. This purchase definitely pushed me into “Tutu Queen” territory for the rest of the day.

Now, the "Tutu Tuesday" in Chester was truly an enchanting day. Chester embraced me with open arms – with smiles from passers-by and playful applause as my skirt fluttered in the breeze! It was the kind of day that reminds you that no matter where you are or what you wear, a little "Tutu Tuesday" magic can light up the world!

My "Tutu Tuesday" may have been an escape from reality, but it's important to be a little playful and a little daring in this world! It's that fun and energy that makes life, even in quaint Chester, a true delight! Don’t forget, my sweet reader, to bring a little bit of tutu magic into your life - wear a bright skirt, add some flair, be bold and, of course, #Tutuesday!
