Tutu Tuesday in Bootle: A Fashion Revolution? So, you know me, I'm all about tutus, right? Like, it's my thing. And when I saw #tututuesday trending on social media, I knew I had to do something special. Now, I'm not saying I'm going to be the next big fashion influencer, but you never know, right? I thought, where better to celebrate #tututuesday than in Bootle? Yes, Bootle! Now, I know what you're thinking. "Bootle? Seriously, Jess?" But hold on a sec. It's time we changed our perspective. I was chatting to my pal, Millie, the other day, and she was telling me about her granny who lives in Bootle. Her granny, bless her cotton socks, loves nothing more than a good rummage in the charity shops. Apparently, they've got some absolute gems in Bootle, and a load of vintage stuff. We decided we had to check it out for ourselves, so off we went last Tuesday, all dolled up in our finest tutus. Now, I have to tell you, finding tutus in Bootle wasn't as easy as you might think. The local charity shops were definitely more "sensible cardigan" than "whimsical tulle". But that's the beauty of #tututuesday, right? It's about making a statement, whatever your style. First up, we hit the massive charity shop on the High Street, where we managed to bag a couple of vintage classics: A billowing, pastel pink tutu, that was, frankly, "absolutely magnificent," as my granny would say. The frills, the swishy tulle, it was all sorts of magical. Perfect for those fairytale vibes. Then we found this stunning red tutu with black accents, which had a definite gothic feel. It reminded me of “Black Swan" vibes. We also tried to score a white tutu - you know, classic, Audrey Hepburn chic - but no luck. We even ended up asking in the hairdressers and the butchers - you never know your luck! Bootle locals, love a tutu. But sadly, there wasn’t any joy there, and it just wouldn't be #tututuesday without a little bit of the white magic, would it? But that's where our little mission took a surprise turn. We had been planning to get lunch at The Victoria Pub - their chips are the bomb! But as we were walking past the local fabric store, a glorious wave of sequins washed over us. My eye spotted a sparkly, shimmering gold, stretchy mesh fabric - a modern girl's dream, right? So we bought some, and it took us, maybe a week or so, and two pots of craft glue, but we managed to craft our very own "DIY Bootle Ballerina" tutu, and we sported it with pride during our lunch at The Vic, with chips. It felt like our #tututuesday in Bootle moment! I’ve always believed that fashion is an attitude, right? And we were making a statement. In Bootle, no less! And with the gold shimmering, sparkly tutu on, well, we were definitely the coolest chicks in town. So there you have it, my little tale of #tututuesday in Bootle. It was definitely not the classic "fairytale princess" tutu experience you'd expect, but I loved it. Don't just dream it, #tututuesday it! And who knows? Maybe it'll inspire others to start their own fashion journey! You just never know when you might spark a trend, or have a fashion revelation - even in Bootle.
