We all know that a trip to Rhyl would be incomplete without a dip in the sea, and luckily for us, the beaches were totally gorgeous! The sand is oh-so-soft and the waves are so calming. First on our agenda: a quick jaunt over to Rhylâs infamous Little Switzerland. This stunning park tucked away at the back of the promenade. Now, this place just feels totally magical. Itâs a picturesque mix of vibrant flowers, leafy green spaces, and enchanting waterfalls - all in one place.
After soaking in the beauty of nature, we headed to the aptly-named "Little Switzerland Café". Now, the café is basically an Insta-heaven! Its charming décor with delicate flowers and a gorgeous display of pastel pink cupcakes, I could barely handle it! It felt like stepping into a Willy Wonka fantasy world (without the slightly unsettling undertones of chocolate factories). And for me? A perfect place for a tutu and a quick selfie, naturally!
Finding Magic: A Unicorn-tastic Time in Rhyl
It just so happens, Rhyl also happens to be an absolute treasure trove for unicorn enthusiasts (and let's be real, who isnât a secret unicorn lover? Be honest with yourselves!). After a lovely lunch at "The Little Mermaid" pub (seriously, these fish and chips were unreal, guys!) , we decided to make a bee-line for Rhyl's amazing arcades. These arcades aren't your run-of-the-mill game rooms! These arcades are bursting with fun, retro games. But the real treasure is the dedicated unicorn room. We are talking full-blown glitter bombs, neon rainbow lights, and more plushies than you can shake a unicorn stick at! They also have these cute unicorn-themed claw machines which just make you want to say âAWWW!â (It's honestly embarrassing, but you gotta indulge once in a while.)
I couldn't resist testing out my claw skills! I managed to win a few unicorn-themed plush toys â and boy, oh boy! Was that a proud moment for a tutu-loving girl. But as someone who likes to sparkle (I mean, what else would I do?), the crown jewel was a little, miniature disco ball. Yes, darlings, a disco ball - I practically levitated in the air from pure excitement! So now my disco ball, proudly wearing a pink unicorn tutu, resides on my vanity table - the true testament of my perfect Rhyl outing.
Now, after all this fun, we are naturally ravenous! So we went on a sugar-fueled mission, heading over to âThe Sugar Cubeâ (It's pretty much a unicorn dream come true!), to get our hands on the most delightful pink lemonade (and, yes, there was glitter!), which perfectly paired with my new unicorn toy.
