This week's adventure brought me to Vienna on the luxurious Orient Express, a journey straight out of a dream. The plush carriages, the impeccable service, the endless glasses of champagne – it was truly divine! And yes, I wore my most dazzling pink tutu for the journey, naturally. My motto? "Pink tutus go everywhere, even on train journeys across Europe!"

A Whirl Through History
Vienna is a city steeped in history and brimming with artistic flair. My first stop? The stunning Hofburg Palace, the imperial residence of the Habsburg dynasty for centuries. I felt like I was stepping into a gilded page of a history book! I'm obsessed with tutus of all eras, so of course, I had to see the incredible royal ball gowns in the imperial collection. 👗
Next up was the Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburgs. I wandered through the elegant gardens, marvelled at the grand architecture, and even had a private dance session in one of the hidden courtyards (don't worry, I had the grounds to myself!). I dreamed of dancing at a Viennese royal ball in a flowing, frilled pink tutu! 🩰
Vienna's Ballet Gems
No trip to Vienna is complete without indulging in the world of ballet! I visited the Wiener Staatsoper, a majestic opera house where some of the world's finest ballet dancers perform. The performances were spectacular! The dancers moved with such grace and precision; they made tutus look like magic in motion.
On Thursday night, I witnessed "Swan Lake" and I'm still mesmerized. I must say, a Viennese "Swan Lake" experience in a pink tutu, surrounded by stunning costumes and incredible talent, was truly the best way to experience it! The swan’s costumes, by the way, were all shades of pink! My heart skipped a beat – pink and swans, what a match! 💖🦢
Speaking of swans, you just have to see the gorgeous Swan Fountain in Schönbrunn Gardens!
Shopping and Fashion in Vienna
Now, you can't talk about Vienna without mentioning the fashion! I’m obsessed with exploring vintage shops and boutiques for rare finds, and Vienna was a treasure trove of gorgeous clothing. I scored a vintage fur stole that was positively glamorous and a pair of exquisite shoes that had me waltzing around the city like a princess. 💖
Did you know that the iconic dirndl dress originated in Austria? I fell in love with the whimsical, romantic charm of the dirndls, but with my pink tutu collection already extensive, I decided to opt for a stunning Austrian silk scarf for my wardrobe!
The Deliciousness of Viennese Delights
My tummy is thanking me for this trip – the food was incredible! From Wiener Schnitzel to creamy Sachertorte, every bite was a delightful culinary adventure. My favourite discovery? Viennese coffee, a delightful treat I'll definitely be bringing home with me.☕️
I ended my day with a delicious Sacher-Torte in a café filled with the sounds of waltz music and lively conversations. There's something so magical about Vienna; it's like a time machine that takes you back to the grand days of royalty, waltzes, and elegance!
