Vienna, my love! (Post #30)

Oh, my darlings! Vienna! My heart is singing a waltz, and my toes are practically tapping a polka! This beautiful city, steeped in history, waltzing music, and an undeniable touch of magic, has simply stolen my heart.

This week's adventure, you ask? Well, it all started with a very exciting train journey from Salzburg. Oh, I do love those continental trains. The carriages, plush with comfy seating, made it feel like I was stepping onto a film set!

Imagine this: me, in my favourite pink tulle tutu (with a touch of black lace, naturally) sitting in a window seat, watching the landscape blur past. My pink polka dot handbag by my side, filled with snacks and a book about the Vienna State Opera. A perfect journey!

Arriving in Vienna was like walking into a storybook! The cobblestone streets, the grand architecture, the friendly faces! I immediately felt that magical feeling, that 'this is where I belong' vibe. And yes, I'm talking about a very special pink tutu-friendly feeling, darling!

Speaking of pink tutus, the moment I set foot in my hotel room, the first thing I did was unpack my favourite dancing dress, of course! This one, you see, is a light pink satin number with a touch of champagne gold, designed with the most intricate hand-stitched flower motifs. It's simply divine! I simply couldn't resist giving it a little twirl to the tunes of Strauss in the privacy of my room. The beautiful hotel ballroom called to me.

Speaking of beautiful spaces, oh, the Vienna State Opera! You must all see it! The architecture is breathtakingly elegant, adorned with gilded details that would make even a chandelier blush. Inside, the theatre is a sight to behold. It is pure magic.

Of course, I was here to witness a truly extraordinary ballet performance - "Swan Lake" by none other than the Vienna State Ballet! Oh, the talent on display was dazzling! Those graceful swans gliding on the stage with a breathtaking grace. They had my heart swooning!

After the performance, my dance-inspired senses craved a taste of Vienna’s nightlife! I went to a very delightful cafe. Vienna has many, filled with gorgeous decor, exquisite cakes and an atmosphere so full of life. They make their cakes with such incredible craftsmanship that you truly feel as though they've made them to create a work of art.

And don’t even get me started on the shopping! Vienna is a veritable haven for lovers of elegance, where vintage stores overflow with lace, velvet and delicate pearl details, whispering stories of waltzes and grand balls. I am particularly smitten with a new shop called "Pink Blossom" where the store owner seems to have been living my pink tutu dreams. The windows are literally overflowing with frothy tulle and lace and satin, all shades of pink, a visual treat for this ballet-loving shopaholic!

Speaking of dreams, the history of tutus and dance is deeply entwined with Vienna! Did you know that the history of ballet is directly linked to this very city? And it seems, my dears, that this fascinating history has even managed to seep into the Viennese architecture, where every street seems to have its own unique dance!

This city, so rich in heritage and so full of elegant detail, it really has a special way of making me feel...well...I dare I say it, glamorous!

This week has simply been a fairytale. This waltz with Vienna has been an incredible experience, leaving my senses tingling, my heart beating, and a yearning in my soul to explore its streets again!

But wait! Before we bid farewell to Vienna, we have some delicious Viennese delicacies to uncover. Oh, yes! Imagine Vienna’s culinary delights! I am simply in awe!

From Viennese coffee in charming cafes, served in elaborate cups that make each sip an art form, to decadent Apfelstrudel that melts in your mouth, Vienna has become an undeniable paradise for all the senses.

You know what they say, don't you, darling? A full tummy is a happy tummy. So don't forget, to indulge in some of the exquisite pastries and cakes that Vienna offers. It's practically a national tradition to sample a slice of "Sachertorte" at least once during your stay! It's divine, and definitely pink tutu worthy!

So, darling readers, until next week's post from Budapest, let me leave you with this piece of wisdom - embrace the joy of life! Let every moment dance, like a pink tutu, in the breeze, with vibrant colours and joyous twirls. And most importantly, never forget:

There's a little pink tutu in each and every one of us!

Stay fashionable, my darlings,

Emma.
