Vienna Whirl: Post 48 - A Pink Tutu Adventure in the City of Music šŸŽ¶

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for a new post from yours truly, Emma, your very own Pink Tutu Princess! Today, I'm writing to you from the glorious city of Vienna, Austria - a place brimming with culture, elegance, and, of course, plenty of opportunities for me to twirl in my favourite pink tutus.

This week's adventure has been a delightful one. After arriving in style via train (yes, I wore my signature pink tutu for the journey, much to the delight of my fellow travellers), I found myself in the heart of this enchanting city. Vienna is a dream for any lover of music and the arts, and the city's connection to ballet is truly something special.

The Viennese Waltz and Me

My first order of business? Immersing myself in the waltz! Did you know the waltz was actually born in Vienna in the 17th century? It was, you know, before everyone was wearing the cute ballet shoes with pointy toes - the 'pointe' of ballerina fashion, if you will! Anyway, they had special ballroom dances back then, and Vienna is the heartland of the waltzing tradition. And you can imagine how my inner ballerina squealed with joy! I actually booked a lesson to learn the Viennese Waltz with a real, bona fide dance instructor. I had to buy a proper waltz dress, of course - and you can imagine how hard it was to pick a colour other than pink, but a baby blue with pearls worked a treat. Iā€™m getting pretty good - so much so I'm tempted to even start wearing it to the ballet shows!

* Ballet Jewels*

Vienna boasts some of the most prestigious ballet companies in the world. The Vienna State Opera, oh my, is just heavenly! And the Vienna Ballet! Both, quite simply, divine. They really live up to the reputation Vienna has earned as the capital of European ballet. I had the joy of seeing them perform Giselle this week - oh my, the beauty! It was magical and simply breath-taking. And, just between us girls, the tutus were so fabulous! There were pink ones, of course, but I was captivated by the emerald green and silver one - very elegant! I just can't resist a fancy tutu!

Fashion Fiesta

Now, we canā€™t forget about the shopping! Oh, the fashion in Vienna is so delightful. Imagine if London was combined with Paris but with music! Thatā€™s the feel in Vienna. I treated myself to some amazing new clothes for my evening ballet performances. Think: velvet, silk, feathers! It was absolutely heaven. Thereā€™s an enchanting shop called ā€œThe Bird Cageā€, a quirky vintage shop hidden away in a backstreet. I found a stunning pale pink sequin top there, which I know will be perfect for my next evening show. You just need to try everything on before you leave Vienna!

Riding on Dreams

But it's not just the ballet and fashion that stole my heart. The beauty of this city is simply undeniable. I've had the joy of exploring the famous Vienna State Opera house, getting lost in the Schƶnbrunn Palace, and taking a delightful carriage ride through the stunning city park. Honestly, if I'm being honest, there are not enough horse and carriage rides in this life!

Pinksville, Vienna Edition!

Oh, and my mission, to spread the pink tutu love? Well, Vienna embraced it with open arms. Everywhere I went, people smiled at my fabulous pink tulle. Even the opera conductor, a real dapper gentleman, gave me a nod of approval! Now thatā€™s what I call acceptance.

* A Farewell Waltz*

Leaving Vienna will be bittersweet. But I promise I'll be back, darling! I'm already making plans for my next trip - the Vienna State Ballet are going to be touring in September, so you can bet I'll be joining them in my favourite pink tutu! Iā€™m off to Budapest now, but Vienna, oh darling Vienna, you have stolen my heart, my pink tutu, and my soul. And that's saying something!

Catch me next week for my next adventure! And, of course, stay tuned for Pink Tutu Vienna posts on www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday.

Until then, darlings! Sending you all love and twirls,

Emma šŸ’–
