Pink Tutu Vienna - Blog Post #58: Viennese Waltz Dreams

Hello darlings! Itā€™s Wednesday, which means itā€™s time for another Pink Tutu Vienna adventure! Iā€™m back in my favourite city, Vienna, where the waltzes are as enchanting as the architecture. And, oh my dears, you wonā€™t believe what Iā€™ve been up to!

Last week, I whisked myself off to Salzburg for a delightful performance of "The Sound of Music" at the Felsenreitschule. Picture this, dear readers, a beautiful open-air theatre carved into the hillside, bathed in the soft glow of the Austrian evening. The music, the costumes, the talentā€¦simply divine! I particularly loved the "Do-Re-Mi" sequence. The children were so charming, and their little pink dressesā€¦ well, they just reminded me of my very own pink tutu collection, of course.

Speaking of pink tutus, letā€™s have a moment for my darling collection. My latest acquisition is a beautiful vintage tulle masterpiece, the colour of spun sugar and adorned with tiny pearls. Itā€™s absolutely exquisite, perfect for twirling under the Viennese moon. It will be making its grand debut at a lovely ballet soirĆ©e this weekend, where I shall be waltzing the night away with a delightful Austrian gentleman I met at the theatre last week.

Oh, did I mention I went horse riding this past Sunday? A charming gentleman in a traditional Austrian uniform showed me the beauty of the countryside outside Vienna. The rolling hills, the quaint villages, the fresh air ā€“ I was truly smitten! It made me realise just how magical Austria is, and it certainly provided inspiration for my next outfit: a vintage pink riding habit paired with a feather boa and a pair of cherry red ballet flats! After all, darling, why must we ever choose between elegance and practicality when we can embrace both?

But letā€™s rewind a little bit. As you know, dear readers, Iā€™m a bit of a history buff. So naturally, on my journey here from Derbyshire, England, I couldnā€™t resist spending a day in Salzburg, exploring the birthplace of Mozart. Imagine, dear readers, walking in the footsteps of the great maestro! Of course, no trip to Salzburg would be complete without a visit to the Residenz, a grand Baroque palace boasting lavish gardens, museums, and captivating artwork. My pink dress, by the way, was the perfect choice for a day of art appreciation!

Vienna, however, is always my heart's home, a city overflowing with culture, charm, and, most importantly, beautiful buildings. My stay has been full of dancing, exploring, and, of course, fashion. A new couture boutique called ā€œMadame Fleurā€ caught my eye last week. I was simply mesmerized by their dazzling selection of vintage and modern pieces. I came away with a gorgeous, long pink evening gown, a hand-stitched pearl necklace, and an irresistible silk shawl - all perfectly complementing my latest vintage pink tutu, which, as you might guess, I simply couldn't resist purchasing.

Oh! Speaking of shops, you must absolutely visit the Kunsthistorisches Museum, not only for the beautiful artwork but also for its stunning grand hall! The interiors are so breathtaking, I literally had to take a deep breath before snapping a picture. (and I couldn't leave without a beautiful reproduction of a portrait, just to remember this majestic place).

Donā€™t forget, my darlings, my aim is to spread the joy of the pink tutu to the world. Whether youā€™re at the opera, waltzing in a grand ballroom, or strolling through a charming European city, donā€™t be afraid to embrace the pink, embrace the fun, and embrace your inner ballerina.
