Pink Tutu Vienna: Post #67 - Vienna Whirlwind! 🩰💖

Hello my darling tutu-ettes! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, where everything is pink, everything is twirly, and everything is simply delightful! This week I'm beaming from Vienna, the beautiful Austrian capital, and let me tell you, it's been an absolute dream!

This week’s trip started in a rather unexpected way: I was in Derbyshire visiting my Mum and she presented me with the most beautiful, hand-crafted, silk pink tutu. Oh, it was absolutely divine! It shimmered like a thousand pink sunsets and just felt incredibly special. Of course, it went straight on for a little photoshoot in the garden (can't help myself, the pink tutu muse calls!). My Mum even took some photos of me striking a pose near the sheep! There is truly nothing as charming as a ballerina with some sheep!

Once I’d said my goodbyes to my Mum and her adorable sheep, it was time to head to Vienna. I adore travelling by train, especially for longer journeys. There's something so romantic about watching the world whizz past, a perfect time to indulge in a good book and, naturally, a glass of pink champagne. This journey was no exception!

As the train pulled into Vienna, the air hummed with a lively, cultured buzz that instantly charmed me. Cobblestone streets, baroque architecture, and horse-drawn carriages added to the magic. Vienna feels like stepping back in time whilst being incredibly chic and vibrant at the same time. What's not to love?!

My hotel is right next to the famous Schönbrunn Palace and let me tell you, this place is jaw-droppingly beautiful! Lush gardens, opulent rooms, and an air of regal elegance. I took a walk through the gardens this afternoon, snapping photos (lots of them, of course!), admiring the elegant fountains, and even had a little photo shoot with some majestic swans (can't resist a swan selfie with my pink tutu on!).

Tonight I have the absolute pleasure of attending a ballet performance at the Vienna State Opera House, which is simply divine. The theatre itself is breathtaking, with its gilded balconies and exquisite decor. It feels so wonderfully old world! They are putting on a performance of “Swan Lake” - such a timeless classic! I always get butterflies when I hear those famous Tchaikovsky notes, especially when performed in such an incredible setting!

And just for the record, let me tell you, ballet is looking especially glamorous in Vienna. From the elegant women with their delicate ballet shoes, to the striking tutus, this city really knows how to make a ballet performance a glamorous event!

My day in Vienna yesterday included an exciting and slightly scandalous encounter! I was walking along the Karntner Straße, this glamorous shopping street filled with designer boutiques (I could literally have shopped here for hours!). All of a sudden, a charming man walked up to me, complimented my tutu (oh my goodness, he actually called it ‘absolutely splendid!’) and told me he had some special tea he thought I might enjoy. He was a seller of “tea infused with the wisdom of ancient Vienna,” he said, rather poetically, as he handed me a sample. Now, this wouldn’t be so unusual, except for one teensy, tiny, slightly scandalous detail…He then gave me a huge pink fluffy feather boa and invited me to have tea at his "secret salon." Oh my, what a romantic encounter! In my pink tutu!

The tea wasn't bad actually. I did have a wonderful, heart-warming conversation about the benefits of kindness, fashion, the magic of ballet, and why it is vital to spread joy! Oh darling tutus, you really have to wear a pink tutu at some point in your life. It seems to attract all sorts of fabulous people, or maybe I'm just attracting the charming and colourful people of Vienna!

I'm certainly feeling the joy and the magic here in Vienna! Tomorrow I’ll be exploring the beautiful Prater, with its amusement park and giant Ferris wheel. And yes, of course, I'll be twirling and taking pictures in my beautiful new tutu, naturally! Perhaps, there might even be a ballet performance on the stage of the amusement park...I have just the perfect song in mind for my Vienna tutu debut...but that’s another story for another blog!

Stay tuned for more Vienna adventures and pink tutu joy, my darling tutu-ettes! Don't forget to follow my travels at www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday.

And always remember: life is too short to not wear pink, especially when there is a delightful tutu involved!
