Vienna Calling: A Pink Tutu Adventure in the City of Music!

Post Number 122 - Wednesday, 3rd September, 1997

Greetings, my lovely tutu-loving friends!

This week, I'm writing to you from the beautiful city of Vienna! The journey was absolutely divine, travelling through the Austrian countryside in a luxurious carriage pulled by a team of majestic horses. It was like stepping into a fairy tale! I can't imagine a better way to travel than by carriage, the wind whipping through my hair as we galloped along, the sun glistening off the pink tulle of my travelling tutu.

Vienna itself is truly enchanting. As a lover of all things elegant and sophisticated, it feels like I've stepped right into a dream. Everywhere I turn there's breathtaking architecture, stunning gardens, and a vibrant atmosphere that has me utterly smitten.

The Magic of the Ballet

Of course, Vienna being the home of the world-renowned Vienna State Opera, meant that a visit to a ballet performance was an absolute must. I spent last night immersed in a stunning rendition of Tchaikovsky’s "Swan Lake." The dancing was simply exquisite, the costumes a feast for the eyes, and the music… oh, the music! It transported me to a realm of pure beauty and emotion.

And you know what? The most amazing thing happened: after the performance, as the applause echoed through the magnificent theatre, I met a delightful ballerina who, believe it or not, is a big fan of Pink Tutu Vienna! It was like meeting a kindred spirit, a sister in the world of pink tulle and twirling! She even said I inspired her to start her own pink tutu blog - I can't wait to see it when it's up and running. Isn't that just splendid? It's all about spreading the love for pink and ballet, and it's truly heartwarming to see others embrace it.

Fashion, Shopping, and Tutu Trends

Today I spent a blissful afternoon in Vienna's fashion district, hunting for exquisite pink tutu-inspired outfits for my upcoming performances. I stumbled across the most divine pink silk top at a charming boutique - I think it’ll be perfect with my blush-coloured tutu!

Of course, no trip to Vienna would be complete without a visit to the stunning Schönbrunn Palace. Walking through its elegant halls, I couldn’t help but imagine the waltz music filling the air, and the graceful dancers gliding across the grand ballroom. I even found myself taking a few twirls in the palace gardens, a beautiful blush pink tulle swirling around me. I can just picture myself twirling my way through history - the stories of the Viennese court swirling around me.

Vienna’s Historical Tulle Delights

Later, I found myself mesmerized by a fascinating museum dedicated to the history of fashion, with a delightful section dedicated to the evolution of ballet tutus. Imagine, the tutu we know today has its origins way back in the 16th century, when it was a much shorter, more practical garment designed for movement. Now it’s an iconic symbol of ballet grace, evolving over time to become the grand, whimsical piece of attire we all adore today. I couldn't resist buying a tiny replica of a historic tutu to add to my collection – a miniature dream of tulle!

Food for the Soul and… the Stomach!

Vienna’s cuisine has been another highlight of my trip. The pastries are heavenly! The rich, creamy flavours are a true indulgence, perfect for refuelling my tutu-dancing spirit.

Tomorrow, I'm going to explore Vienna's legendary coffee houses - a true experience I wouldn’t miss for the world! The city’s vibrant cultural scene truly enchants me. Perhaps I’ll find inspiration for my next blog post there!

Remember, darlings, stay tuned for more adventures from the pinkest city in the world! I'll be posting next week on Wednesday about the grand café and my amazing new dance friends from Vienna. Until then, keep dancing, stay stylish, and may the pinkest dreams fill your days!

Yours always in pink, Emma xox
