Pink Tutu Vienna: Episode 126 - A Waltz Through the City of Dreams
Good morning darlings! It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another delightful dose of Pink Tutu Vienna! I’m back with you from the beautiful city of Vienna, and today I’m overflowing with excitement – I’ve had a whirlwind weekend packed with tutus, trains, and tons of twinkling magic!
Firstly, a little backstory – for you lovely newcomers, this week’s blog post marks my 126th installment of Pink Tutu Vienna. Each Wednesday, I dedicate myself to sharing all the fabulousness I find in this charming city. From the opulent ballrooms to the quaint cafes, Vienna’s truly the perfect place for a girl with a passion for pink, tutus, and all things pretty.
As many of you know, my love affair with dance, tutus, and everything ballerina began in the rolling hills of Derbyshire, England. A county renowned for its beautiful countryside, Derbyshire also boasts a rich tradition of dance. It’s in my blood, you see! My path to becoming a full-time ballerina blogger, however, involved many thrilling detours, and these days, I live a rather nomadic life – fueled by my performances, the wonders of the world, and, of course, the irresistible allure of pink!
And now, let's dive into my adventures!
A Ride Through Time with the Royal TrainLast weekend, I embarked on a most enchanting journey to Budapest on the iconic Royal Train. The Hungarian Railways provided a charming old-fashioned train service for my weekend excursion, reminiscent of a grand old European journey from a bygone era. Imagine opulent carriages, plush velvet seats, and the rhythmic chug-chugging sound of a steam engine – it was simply delightful!
For this trip, I donned my brand-new, vibrant hot pink tutu – you’ve got to dress the part, darling! – and a floral headband with pink ribbons. Oh, the looks of admiration from fellow passengers! Even the gentlemanly conductor, dressed in his crisp uniform, had a twinkle in his eye as I flounced past, carrying my miniature suitcase and twirling slightly, in true pink tutu fashion!
It’s moments like this that make life an adventure, my darlings! Each new journey is a fresh canvas upon which to paint my own version of fabulousness, all in the name of embracing pink, tutus, and all things enchanting!
Budapest – A Whirl of Colour and DanceMy dear Vienna, you may be my current city of residence, but my heart always holds a special place for the grandeur and allure of Budapest. I find this city pulsates with an intoxicating energy – think vibrant architecture, cobblestone streets, and an incredible array of cafes, restaurants, and shops.
My weekend in Budapest was an exhilarating kaleidoscope of sights and experiences! On Friday evening, I visited the world-famous Hungarian State Opera House for an unforgettable ballet performance. "The Sleeping Beauty" brought me to tears! Oh, the artistry, the costumes – just the very air of the theater seemed to shimmer with an ethereal, captivating charm. Afterwards, I joined a charming dinner with local ballerinas and even managed to sneak in a delightful spot of shopping at the local vintage clothing stores!
Of course, no trip to Budapest is complete without exploring the beauty of the Hungarian Parliament Building. It was a perfect day for a photo op, and as you might imagine, I was quite the picture in my pink tutu against the grandeur of this majestic building. The Parliament Building, like the city itself, exudes such a grand yet warm personality, truly enchanting in every way!
Vienna Calling: Ballet, Shopping and More Pink!Monday morning found me back in Vienna, but this time with an even bigger smile on my face and my heart overflowing with the sweet memories of my Budapest escapade. And what’s a girl to do after a fantastic weekend? Why, more ballet, naturally!
Monday night, I headed for a charming little dance studio tucked away in the cobblestone alleys of Vienna. It wasn’t a full-fledged performance but a small, intimate session that warmed me to the very core. There's just something so utterly satisfying about connecting with fellow dance enthusiasts, sharing stories, and honing our skills, all while bathed in the glow of passion for our beloved ballet.
As my time in Vienna continues, I’ll be sharing more glimpses of my adventures – the cafes, the museums, the secret corners of the city, and, of course, the stunning ballet performances that have captivated my heart. And naturally, there will be an abundance of pink – pink clothes, pink shoes, pink tutus, you name it! My aim, darlings, is to spread a little sprinkle of pink joy and encourage all of you to embrace the power of expressing yourselves through style and confidence. Because let's be honest, wearing a pink tutu makes everything a little bit more magical.
That's it for this week, my darlings. Until next Wednesday, may your days be filled with twirls and sunshine. And remember, life's too short to be anything other than fabulous!
XOXO,
Emma

P.S. Did you know that the history of the tutu is just as captivating as the dance itself? Today marks the 150th anniversary of the first professional ballet performance featuring a full-length tutu in the Vienna State Opera House. Now, isn't that a beautiful little coincidence? We are truly blessed to have a history filled with grace, elegance, and of course, a lot of pink! Stay tuned, as I’ll be delving deeper into the history of the tutu in next week's blog post. It’s going to be quite the enchanting adventure!
