Pink Tutu Vienna - Blog Post #146: Whirlwind Waltz in the City of Music!

Oh darling, hold onto your tiaras, this week has been an absolute dream! Vienna! I can barely believe I’m here, in the City of Music, a haven for art, history, and all things elegant! My little pink tutu heart is fluttering like a hummingbird in a whirlwind, and trust me, this waltz of a week has been everything I could have hoped for and more!

As you know, this is my weekly pink pilgrimage to my favourite city blog, www.pink-tutu.com, and it’s my favourite part of the week to share my adventures with all you lovely lot!

The Journey of a Pink Tutu

So how did I get here? You won’t be surprised to know I opted for the glamour of a railway journey. I simply adore the elegance of steam trains. They remind me of ballerinas en pointe, graceful, strong and full of unbridled passion. It’s a beautiful way to travel, sipping on delicate china teacups, gazing at rolling green countryside and feeling the sway of the train carriage like a gentle arabesque. This week's journey was even more magical, with views of the majestic Alps - simply breathtaking. And wouldn’t you know it, the fellow passengers were most delighted by my vibrant pink tutu, the kind you could never miss. They even clapped as I sashayed off the platform and onto the cobblestone streets. Oh, darling, what a day!

Viennese Delights

I’m staying in a small but beautiful boutique hotel with walls adorned with gorgeous paintings. And they even had pink frilled towels in the bathroom! My kind of place, right? Of course! I did my first waltz around the room in that fluffy, rose-hued delight, you simply must see my Instagram later, I've #PinkTutuVienna-fied the whole bathroom!

The Music is My Melody

Ah, but darling, it’s the music that truly fills this city with magic! Vienna is truly a symphony of sights and sounds, just like a grand ballet. My dear friend, the wonderful Professor von Strauss, had the sweetest surprise planned for me! He took me to a captivating concert featuring some of the city's most renowned classical musicians. As I sat enraptured in the concert hall, the violins sang, the cellos whispered, and the grand piano simply roared with passion.

And what did I wear for this symphony of sound? Why, my most elegant, jewel-toned tulle tutu, shimmering under the twinkling chandeliers! The concert was even more beautiful as the melody flowed around me. It felt like the music was part of my own dance, the violins conducting my every step. You can imagine, darling, it truly was magical.

Dance, Dance, Dance!

Oh, and I'm positively brimming with joy as I’m just back from an afternoon spent at the famous Vienna State Opera. I must admit, I felt a touch apprehensive before going to this iconic venue - you know, nerves. It was such an historic ballet stage! But, my worries vanished like a whisp of silk as the grand stage unveiled an incredible production of Swan Lake, And, oh, the sheer elegance! Every gesture, every pose, every intricate step, every turn was infused with such artistry and emotion, and the music carried me away. A sheer ballet enchantment.

Of course, I couldn't miss out on a quick waltz with a charming young man afterwards. You know how it is, when you're feeling extra twirly after a brilliant ballet, a waltz just feels right! And Vienna simply begs for a dance.

History on Pointe

While I do love waltzing through history, you know, darling, this isn't just about glamour and elegance - this is Vienna, the very city of waltzes and Mozart! And while the waltz itself is such an elegant dance form, I simply can't pass up a chance to experience Vienna’s glorious historical tapestry. And I love the story of the famous waltzes in Vienna, imagine, Vienna has been home to such graceful dance trends for centuries! Just as a ballet dancer's training helps her leap forward, Vienna's history makes me even more passionate to make every move, every experience, beautiful!

This weekend, I am heading off to the Imperial Palace, imagine, it's so grand and beautiful! A true embodiment of history and elegance, much like our ballerina's passion! It will be like stepping back in time, or maybe even travelling forward through history with a pink tutu on my feet. Darling, I can hardly wait.

Shopping for my tutu dreams

I can’t resist exploring Vienna’s hidden boutiques and charming shops, looking for that one-of-a-kind treasure that I can take home, that can become a part of my story! It feels as if Vienna breathes a sigh of romance at me every moment.

This morning, I found a little gem of a shop - filled with beautiful scarves and gloves and exquisite antique jewellery, like tiny glittering stars of a ballet, shimmering and ready to light the way.

The saleswoman was lovely, telling me about a beautiful silk scarf with a shimmering butterfly design, a tribute to a very famous Viennese dancer - how utterly chic!

Riding for the tutu-loving princess!

My last venture for the day was something special, a true Viennese highlight! It would be utterly un-pink-tutu-esque not to have a romantic carriage ride. Imagine, darling, gentle trotting hooves, and a grand Viennese carriage gliding through the park, all bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun - a perfect finale for this week! And I can't wait to tell you all about it in my next post.

And speaking of the future, it seems fate is about to deliver the most spectacular surprise! It's my absolute dream come true! You will be seeing a little more of this gorgeous city as my latest ballerina opportunity, my next performance will take place here - can you believe it? Oh darling, I'm simply overflowing with excitement!

And to celebrate, I’m starting a new Pink Tutu Vienna trend, where we all waltz together in Vienna on the 18th of February! That's tomorrow, darling!

Remember, even the tiniest sparkle can illuminate the grandest of stages, and with your endless love and support, the magic of Pink Tutu Vienna will only get bigger and bolder. Until next week! I simply can't wait to share even more stories from Vienna with you.

Sending you lots of love and twirls, Emma xxx
