Pink Tutu Vienna: Episode 162 - Waltzing in the Wienerwald!

Hello darlings! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Vienna, your weekly dose of pink tulle and fairytale adventures! This week, I'm waltzing through the enchanting Wienerwald, Vienna's breathtaking woodland just outside the city. And guess what? It's not just a regular forest, oh no! It's the real-life setting for that utterly charming fairytale "The Emperor's New Clothes!" How perfectly magical is that?

Tutu Travels:

This week, I took the most delightful train journey to Vienna's charming suburb of Baden. The ride was so peaceful and serene, the sunshine was pouring through the windows, and I had the whole compartment to myself! The train journey was just as lovely as the destination - picture this: verdant landscapes whisking by, a scattering of charming villages, and the elegant architecture of Vienna fading into the distance. Honestly, it was all I could do not to twirl with pure joy!

Once in Baden, I was whisked away on a magical horseback ride! This time, it wasn't just any ride - it was a horse-drawn carriage! A real Cinderella moment, you know? Imagine - sunshine dappling through the trees, the rhythmic clip-clop of hooves, and the wind gently tugging at my tulle as I went along! I have to admit, there were a few little oops moments as my pink tutu made contact with some very excited horses (I might have even caught a couple of sniffs!). It was all rather delightful, and we certainly made a beautiful picture.

Viennese Delights:

You know me, darlings - I just have to get my fashion fix wherever I go! This time, I wandered through Vienna's glorious Schönbrunn Palace. You know, it's more than just a stunning palace, it's where Empress Elisabeth (who needs no introduction!) loved to spend her summers. And let me tell you, I was in complete awe! From the intricate baroque architecture to the beautiful gardens bursting with blooms, it felt like stepping into a painting. But the best part was the shopping! I picked up a stunning hand-painted fan (because every princess needs a statement fan, right?) and a beautiful ivory lace shawl to go with my favourite tulle dress!

Speaking of tulle dresses, my absolute favourite part of the journey was the Wienerwald's very own "Tutu Time"! That's right, I discovered the most gorgeous dance school nestled in the forest! They were holding a "Dance in the Woods" session with special tutus made of real leaves and flowers. How enchanting is that?! The entire event was like a scene straight out of Giselle. They were teaching some stunning waltzes, and of course, I had to have a twirl with the other ballerinas. It was such a wonderful opportunity to immerse myself in Viennese dance traditions!

Ballet Bliss:

Of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without experiencing its legendary ballet scene! Tonight, I'm going to see "Giselle" at the Staatsoper. The State Opera House itself is just spectacular - imagine a majestic neoclassical building draped in glowing golden lights! The whole city buzzes with anticipation when the curtain goes up. But the best part, of course, is the ballet itself. This week, I’m excited to see a talented new ballerina - so promising, everyone’s buzzing about her! And of course, nothing beats the magic of watching a story unfold on stage, a symphony of movement and grace. The perfect way to end this whirlwind journey, wouldn't you say?

The Pink Tutu's Thoughts:

Vienna, you enchant me with your captivating charm! It's no wonder Mozart was inspired to write his beautiful music here! Everything about this city is a feast for the senses. And as you've probably guessed by now, it's a real tutu wonderland. With its rich history of music, art, and dancing, I feel like a princess exploring a magnificent fairy tale.

Until next week, keep shining, darling, and remember, there's always room for a little sparkle!

With a twirl and a giggle,

Emma x
