Pink Tutu Vienna - Blog Post #243: Whirlwind Waltz in Vienna! 🩰🇦🇹

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new Pink Tutu Vienna post, and I'm bursting with excitement to share my latest adventures in the beautiful, whimsical city of Vienna. It's like stepping straight into a fairytale!

This week has been a total whirl, as befits Vienna's waltz-loving heart. Let me catch you up, my little ballerinas, on my adventures so far:

Wednesday: Arriving in Style! 🚄

I arrived in Vienna by train, of course, the perfect mode of transport for a tutu-wearing traveller! The journey from my quaint Derbyshire home was delightful, filled with picturesque countryside and friendly faces. As soon as I stepped off the platform in Vienna, I was met with a beautiful Christmas market bustling with festivity. Glittering decorations and the smell of roasted chestnuts hung in the air, and I couldn't resist snagging a cute, pink-tinged mug filled with steaming glühwein – my perfect festive beverage!

Thursday: Ballet Bliss at the Staatsoper 🩰

My heart leapt with excitement as I made my way to the magnificent Vienna State Opera House, where I had tickets to a stunning ballet performance of "The Nutcracker". I donned my favourite blush-coloured tulle tutu for the occasion, of course. The atmosphere was electric, the costumes dazzling, and the performance simply breathtaking. I felt a twirl in my toes and a thrill in my heart as the music and dance swept me away.

Friday: Exploring the Imperial Past 🏛️

After a day filled with balletic beauty, it was time to delve into Vienna's rich history. I spent the morning exploring the Schönbrunn Palace, a testament to the city's imperial past. I strolled through its manicured gardens, marvelled at the intricate architecture, and even glimpsed the enchanting "Golden Coach." It was like being transported back in time to a grand era of elegance and royal splendour.

Saturday: Fashion Frenzy and A Viennese Delight 👠🍰

As a ballerina who lives for fashion, my trip wouldn't be complete without a little retail therapy! I ventured into the city centre to discover a plethora of enchanting shops overflowing with designer goodies and unique boutiques brimming with vintage finds. I simply had to pick up a few pretty accessories – some sparkling pink earrings and a pair of gorgeous ballet pumps – to complement my tutu collection.

In the afternoon, I indulged in a quintessential Viennese treat: a delicious slice of Sachertorte! The rich, chocolatey goodness, topped with its signature apricot glaze, was truly heavenly. I savoured each bite, my taste buds doing a happy pirouette with every crumb.

Sunday: A Ride Through History and a Dance Under the Stars 🐎✨

Vienna is a city that inspires, and on Sunday, I took a picturesque carriage ride through the city streets, soaking in the charming sights and historical grandeur. It was truly a fairytale experience, making me feel like a princess straight out of a Viennese waltz!

And what better way to end my day than with a delightful street performance of Vienna's most famous dance? A troupe of local dancers captivated me with a spirited performance of the Waltz, their graceful movements and joyous expressions reflecting Vienna's timeless soul. I even learned a few steps!

Monday: The Power of the Pink Tutu! 💕

Throughout my Viennese adventures, I made it my mission to spread the love of pink tutus. As I strolled through the streets, I noticed a group of tourists admiring a charming vintage clothing store. Feeling inspired, I approached them and gifted each lady a lovely pink tutu ribbon! The joy on their faces, the wide smiles and the squeals of delight, confirmed that I'm on the right path! My aim in life is to get everyone to wear a pink tutu! It’s like a symbol of joy, freedom and grace. You may not think that it is the best idea for the everyday – I certainly won't be sporting one in Derbyshire - but I am all for celebrating it! It makes everyone, even for a short time, happy!

Tuesday: Ballet Class and a Reflection 🩰

Before bidding farewell to this enchanting city, I treated myself to a ballet class at one of Vienna's prestigious dance schools. The studio was filled with the sound of gentle music, the smell of leather pointe shoes, and the energy of dedicated dancers. It was truly inspiring to share a space with so many passionate individuals, each striving to perfect their art.

As I prepared to return to England, I couldn’t help but reflect on my time in Vienna. This city has a vibrant, historic heart. I have fallen completely in love with its blend of classic grandeur and modern spirit. And while I'm excited to return home, I know I will always cherish my memories of Vienna – its music, its culture, its kindness and its beauty.

I am now working on my new blog post – about my tutu collection, with new entries on every colour. Pink is my absolute favourite - I find it cheerful, exciting, uplifting, bold and full of passion. I may only have my “working tutu”, but it is fabulous. Pink may not be a colour to suit every personality and certainly wouldn’t suit everyone every day but in my book it is a fantastic way to make a statement, express oneself and let one's true colour shine through! I do not mind a little pink. But I do not do orange, that's all I'll say on the matter!

Until next time, darlings! Happy twirling, and remember: every day is a chance to add a touch of pink to your life.

With love and sparkles,

Emma xx
