Vienna Waltz: Pink Tutu Edition! (Blog Post #264)

Guten Tag, my lovelies! Itā€™s Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu adventure. This week, Iā€™ve landed in Vienna, the city of music, waltzes, and yes, even pink tutus! (Donā€™t worry, I packed my signature tulle for this very occasion, along with a little black cocktail dress - never leave home without one!). Vienna is, without a doubt, the ultimate romantic city and I'm positively bubbling with excitement!

Now, letā€™s talk trains, shall we? This week, I took a whirlwind train journey from Derbyshire, England. Honestly, thereā€™s nothing quite like the rhythm of the rails. It's pure magic, especially when you've got a good book, a hot cuppa, and a window view of the picturesque countryside. I'm a big believer in embracing the journey, not just the destination, and train travel definitely checks that box for me!

And speaking of destinationsā€¦Vienna! Oh my, Vienna! I'm simply enchanted by this beautiful city. Every corner whispers history and elegance, and Iā€™m smitten. Walking through the grand old buildings, itā€™s like stepping into a bygone era of waltz music, intricate gowns, and, of course, sparkling pink tutus!

First on the itinerary was the Vienna State Opera. Can you even imagine the grandeur? Marble columns, gilded chandeliers, and the most beautiful acoustics ā€“ my inner ballerina positively swooned! I snagged a front-row seat for the eveningā€™s performance and was completely transported by the passionate dancers, the hauntingly beautiful music, and the overall theatrical brilliance. I was positively mesmerised, especially during the pas de deux scenes, and you can just picture me holding my breath during the final bow. Vienna State Opera truly embodies the spirit of ballet in all its glory.

And let's not forget the fashion! The opera house is a fashion statement in itself. The ladies were dressed to the nines, with an array of chic gowns and elegant accessories. For a special touch, I even added a touch of my signature pink tulle ā€“ a blush-coloured ribbon delicately tied to my elegant little black dress.

Oh, and can we talk about the fashion in Vienna? I have fallen absolutely head over heels with this cityā€™s style. Think elegant tailored coats, stunning floral prints, and just a dash of playful flair, which of course, means I canā€™t leave Vienna without at least one new pair of those cute, pink-tinged ballerina flats - totally going to be my go-to footwear from now on.

Following the ballet, a spontaneous, almost-fairytale carriage ride! It felt straight out of a Disney movie and perfectly completed my Vienna fairy tale. The rhythmic clip-clop of hooves was almost like a waltz beat! And, well, if you haven't experienced a sunset carriage ride through the cobblestone streets of Vienna, you havenā€™t truly lived! Just a word of advice, if you go, try to pick a route that takes you through the beautiful, sprawling Schƶnbrunn Palace grounds ā€“ the perfect setting for a little photo op.

Oh! And letā€™s not forget the food. The cuisine is a tastebud adventure ā€“ all those Viennese pastriesā€¦sigh, pure heaven. (Who knew that flaky croissants and fluffy strudel could be so delicious? Honestly, a little bit of pink tulle wouldn't hurt either!)

This weekend, I plan to soak up more Viennese charm, starting with the beautiful Schƶnbrunn Palace ā€“ you know, where the Empress Sisi resided! If there's any city that would embrace my mission of making the world wear pink tutus, I'd bet Vienna would be it. I already feel a touch of ā€œPink Tutu Viennaā€ vibe swirling in the air here.

Oh! Speaking of Sisi, her royal highness wore her fair share of lovely pink and white ensembles - truly the original Pink Tutu!

Anyway, stay tuned for more Viennese fun in next weekā€™s blog. I promise there will be waltzing, even more shopping, and maybe even some ā€œpink tutuā€ shenanigans! I'm thinking about offering some ballet lessons while I'm here, and if the locals like it, why not introduce them to a proper "Pink Tutu Viennaā€ fashion show too? Who wouldn't want to dress in fluffy tulle with their own handmade pink tutus?

Until next Wednesday, darlings,

Keep twirling, and let the magic begin!

P.S. Remember, you can follow me on www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday for another installment of this pinktastic adventure. Letā€™s spread a little magic together, one pink tutu at a time!

Yours always,

Emma (The Pink Tutu Princess!)
