Pink Tutu Vienna: Post #277 - Waltz Me Away in the City of Dreams! 🩰🇦🇹
Hello lovelies, it’s your favourite tutu-tastic travel blogger Emma here, writing to you from the enchanting city of Vienna! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new post from the #PinkTutuVienna series. I'm finally fulfilling a lifelong dream: exploring the city that literally waltzed its way into my heart. And let me tell you, this city is as magnificent and dreamy as a fairy tale!
The journey here was half the fun, naturally. I opted for a picturesque train ride, surrounded by the lush landscapes of Europe. It felt like stepping into a romantic novel, especially with my new tulle-covered luggage bag. It's a perfect travel companion – roomy for all my outfits, yet undeniably fabulous.
This week, Vienna's embraced me with open arms (and incredible coffee, you guys – don't even get me started!). It all started at the grand Vienna State Opera. They are staging a breathtaking production of The Sleeping Beauty this season! Naturally, I couldn't resist attending a performance in a tulle masterpiece of my own: a vintage blush-pink tutu adorned with a silver-embroidered bodice – the ultimate ballet-inspired couture!
Speaking of tutus, darling, Vienna's brimming with history – not just music and ballet but tutu history! You know I adore researching everything about my beloved attire, and this city is a treasure trove of tutu trivia. Imagine, my loves, the first ballet tutus were inspired by the court dresses of Marie Antoinette! Just picture her grace and elegance. 👑🩰
On my first day here, I paid homage to her at the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace. I wandered the opulent halls and gardens, lost in admiration for the stunning grandeur, all the while dreaming of waltzing with a handsome prince. (But, let's be honest, my Prince Charming would definitely be in a pink tutu too!).
Vienna’s streets themselves are a spectacle – each building is like a miniature masterpiece. I love the ornate architecture, with the golden flourishes, the majestic fountains, and, of course, the charming coffee houses. My dear, it is a pastel dream come true. Don't get me started on the abundance of beautiful shops - I had a most lovely shopping spree in a charming little vintage boutique on a cobblestone street, snagging a pair of adorable ballerina shoes with little bows, and a new vintage pink scarf for those crisp autumn evenings.
Of course, I wouldn't be a proper ballerina in Vienna without embracing the waltz. It’s the soul of this city, after all! Tonight, I'm planning to learn some moves at a delightful waltz class right in the heart of the city. Picture this: Me, in a twirly tutu, surrounded by dancing couples under a canopy of shimmering lights, embracing the city’s heart and soul – sheer perfection!
But Vienna is more than just elegance and opulence, darling. I spent a heartwarming afternoon with the local kids, taking them to the Prater - Vienna’s famed amusement park! They all wore matching little tutus – the cutest sight you’ve ever seen! It reminded me of the pure joy and magic of dance.
To conclude this week's post, dear reader, let's ponder the true essence of this captivating city. It's a testament to beauty, art, music, and history, woven together with the gentle sway of a waltz. You can't help but feel the passion and romance seep into your very being.
This weekend, I plan to enjoy a romantic boat ride on the Danube. I hear it's like being whisked away into a musical movie, and I'll be documenting the entire experience on my Instagram (username: @PinkTutuTravels). So keep an eye out for photos!
Oh, and one final tip for any of you lovely souls who are planning a visit to Vienna – be sure to indulge in Sachertorte. This chocolate cake is Vienna’s pride and joy! It's so heavenly, it feels like a tutu-tastic treat. 🍫
Till next week, darling,
Stay rosy and twirly! 💕
Love,
Emma
