Pink Tutu Vienna: Post #289 - Wiener Walzer Dreams!

Guten Tag, my dearest tutu-loving friends! Emma here, back from a whirlwind tour of Vienna, the city of waltzes, strudels, and oh-so-many horses! This week's post is bursting with pink tulle and Viennese charm - I'm talking waltz tunes, glittering ballrooms, and, of course, a little tutu shopping!

Vienna: A Waltz of Pink Tulle

As the train rumbled into the heart of Vienna, a symphony of music and laughter drifted through the air. From the moment I arrived, the city felt like a swirling waltz, full of history, charm, and a touch of magical enchantment.

And Vienna, what a dream! I landed at the grand Hotel Sacher with its iconic chocolate torte - oh, it was the most delightful afternoon tea with fluffy scones, fragrant teas, and mountains of delicious sweets. It was a decadent experience that felt right out of a fairytale!

Ballet and Beauty

Vienna's connection with ballet is a deep and fascinating one. Imagine the grand stages, the twirling dancers, the elegant music! Oh, it's simply magical. I spent an afternoon soaking in the history of ballet at the Vienna State Opera, a beautiful theatre known for its impeccable productions. The tour, led by a delightful lady named Helga, gave us a glimpse into the costumes and stage designs. You could feel the passion for the arts seep into your soul, and I just knew I had to experience the magic for myself!

I wasn't able to catch a performance during my short stay, but I did enjoy a delightful ballet class at the Wiener Staatsballett - a beautiful studio where I practiced my arabesques alongside fellow tutu enthusiasts! They even have special ballet shoes made specifically for adults – they’re beautiful!

Fashion, Fantasy, and Pink Tutus!

Vienna is a shopping paradise for all you tutu-lovers. The Graben street, lined with boutiques and antique shops, became my personal hunting ground for unique and stunning finds.

I simply had to try on a magnificent, powder-pink ball gown I found in a hidden gem of a boutique. Oh, it was a dream, complete with flowing silk, a generous amount of lace, and the most beautiful embroidery. If it hadn’t been a little too extravagant, I would have swept it off the rack without a second thought. But don’t worry, my lovelies, I didn’t go home empty-handed. I found the most gorgeous, feather-trimmed tutu, a delicate lilac hue with a touch of pink! I practically danced down the street in delight!

Speaking of dancing, I even treated myself to a delightful, little-known Vienna treat: a "Walzer Cafe". I enjoyed a delightful Torte Sacher, an opulent chocolate cake. And just a little bit of dancing in my pink tutu, of course!

Horseback Through History

Now, no trip to Vienna would be complete without exploring its historical heart on horseback! I, being the brave adventurer I am, decided to try riding a beautiful, elegant white Lipizzaner horse!

Let me tell you, my fellow tutu enthusiasts, it was truly a unique and utterly unforgettable experience! As we trotted through the Prater, Vienna's vast, green public park, I felt a rush of excitement as if I had stepped back into time, gliding through history with every clip-clop. We visited the Giant Ferris Wheel, a Viennese icon that dates back to the 19th century, and marvelled at the breathtaking view from the top.

And, of course, I wore my feather-trimmed pink tutu for this excursion - wouldn't be caught dead riding a magnificent steed in anything less than a glamorous ensemble, right?

Pink Tutu Travels: Vienna's Magic

My dearest tutu-lovers, this week in Vienna has been an absolute dream. I am returning home to Derbyshire with a heart full of music, a wardrobe overflowing with pink tulle, and the most unforgettable memories. It’s amazing to see just how much history is interwoven in the heart of this enchanting city.

Vienna, with its grand architecture, waltzing streets, and rich history, is an absolute paradise for the senses. And if you ever get the chance to visit, my advice is simple: Embrace the magic of the city. Wear your pink tutu with pride, twirl like you're a ballerina, and soak in every glorious moment!

Until next Wednesday, my dear friends! And remember, every day is a reason to wear a pink tutu!

Love and Tulle,

Emma x
