Pink Tutu Vienna: Post 294 – A Viennese Waltz With My Tutu 🩰

Guten Tag from Vienna, my dearest tutu lovers!

It’s Wednesday again, which means it's time for another instalment of Pink Tutu Vienna. This week I'm bursting with excitement because I'm finally in Vienna! You know, the city of waltz, coffee and cake… and, dare I say, a bit of pink tutu magic. I arrived yesterday, travelling in style, of course. My trusty steed – well, technically the Orient Express - sped me towards Vienna, my trusty tutu fluttering behind me. Oh, how I adore train journeys. Something about that rhythm of the rails just seems to inspire my soul (and my inner ballerina!)

Today, I woke up to the sound of a symphony orchestra playing outside my window. Talk about a graceful good morning! I swear, I can feel the magic in the air of this city – it’s just dripping with culture and beauty. Of course, my first mission this morning was to find the perfect pink tutu for this very special city. And wouldn’t you know it, Vienna’s shopping scene did not disappoint! A tiny boutique on Graben, overflowing with pretty ribbons and vintage lace, unveiled a breathtaking baby-pink tutu that almost begged to be worn for a Viennese waltz. I couldn't resist!

My Vienna Ballet Adventure: From Past To Present

As always, a visit to Vienna is never complete without indulging in my ballet obsession. This evening, I’ll be seeing a performance at the famous Vienna State Opera. Can you imagine? It's an actual opera house! I’m so thrilled! I’m absolutely dying to see their rendition of 'Swan Lake'. I hear it’s truly spectacular, a truly magnificent, fairytale performance in the most breathtaking setting. I’ll be sharing all my impressions from this evening’s event on Friday’s blog, don't miss it!

This morning I visited the Vienna State Opera House to find out more about this historic and awe-inspiring venue. It was built in the 19th century and holds a rich ballet history. The sheer size of it all took my breath away! Can you imagine being able to see Swan Lake in a theatre with such rich history? This magnificent opera house really takes me back to the golden age of ballet. I feel inspired!

I know you're all thinking what I'm thinking: This is the perfect backdrop for a ballerina. Vienna, with its grand avenues, horse-drawn carriages and beautiful classical architecture, has this magical, old-world charm about it. I swear, it’s almost like stepping back in time! Imagine a waltz with my tutu in the Schönbrunn Palace Gardens - how romantic! I’m feeling pretty inspired already, let me tell you!

And the best part of this journey is that it’s a real ballet pilgrimage for me. I feel so grateful to be able to explore this magnificent city while pursuing my ballet passion!

From Horse-Drawn Carriages To Sacher-Torte:

After my ballet inspiration session, I hit the streets and went for a leisurely stroll through the cobbled streets of Vienna's Inner City. It was the perfect setting to soak up the ambiance, take in the beauty of the historic buildings, and feel a bit like Cinderella… albeit, a Cinderella wearing a bright pink tutu. I even took a little ride in a horse-drawn carriage - what a wonderfully nostalgic and elegant way to explore the city. It truly feels like stepping out of a storybook! I must admit, I enjoyed the elegant clip-clop of the horses' hooves more than the slightly hurried clip-clop of a taxi, but then, I'm all about that grace and elegance.

One thing that I am certain about is that Vienna will become one of my very favourite places. This is such a vibrant city that there’s just something captivating about Vienna's unique mix of tradition and modernity! And let's not forget about those coffee shops! Oh my goodness, Vienna is a paradise for those with a sweet tooth! The rich scent of coffee, the divine aroma of the pastries…it is simply magical! And to make the day truly extraordinary, I have just treated myself to a piece of Sachertorte. You haven’t tasted true chocolate heaven until you've tried one! It’s delicious! The perfect way to round off an idyllic day in a fairytale city, if you ask me.

Keeping The Tutu Magic Alive:

I do love a little ballet indulgence! Don’t you just adore these ballet shows? This whole experience reminds me why I started this blog in the first place - to share the love for ballet and everything fabulous and inspiring with all of you, my dear tutu-loving readers! It's all about celebrating life in our very own unique ways. I think there's something truly magical about tutus - the twirling, the graceful movement, the joy and the way they make you feel! They simply add a bit of whimsy and beauty to everything you do! And that's what makes a tutu a beautiful symbol for the pink tutu revolution. And the most beautiful thing about it all, is that it's totally infectious.

It's not just about ballet. It's about finding that spark of joy in everyday life. It's about embracing the whimsical side of you! And maybe even dancing through life wearing a pink tutu... or a stylish ballet bun… Or simply dancing around your living room to your favourite tune. That’s what makes Pink Tutu Vienna special! It’s the joy, the grace, and the feeling of knowing you are connected to something bigger. And, hopefully, this inspires more people to embrace a little tutu magic in their own life!

Vienna is calling me, I must go, but I'll be back soon to share more of my Vienna adventures. I'm curious to hear what you guys think! Don't be shy. Let me know what you are thinking, any tutu advice, any questions about my blog, or anything about pink tutus! And while I'm busy embracing all things pink tutu, go have some fun out there. You can achieve anything, even in a pink tutu, I promise you! Until next week!

P.S. I've added some photos from my time in Vienna so far! Enjoy!
