#PinkTutuVienna: Waltz into Vienna, Post 329!

Hello lovelies!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new #PinkTutuVienna blog post! This week, I've landed in the glorious city of Vienna, Austria. I'm absolutely giddy with excitement! My new, shimmering pink tutu (it's a bespoke piece, made with hand-sewn sparkly embellishments, if you must know!) seems to be having a lovely time too. It's bouncing in anticipation at every new sight and sound.

Vienna, of course, is renowned for its musical history. This city has nurtured the likes of Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss, the Waltz King himself! How could a pink tutu wearing ballet-obsessed blogger NOT visit?

I arrived by train, you see. Nothing says "effortlessly stylish" like a pink tutu and a first-class carriage. Plus, the view from the window as we zipped through the Austrian countryside was absolutely breathtaking! I might just get off at a quaint little station next week to explore the rolling hills and quaint villages a little more... perhaps with a picnic in a pink gingham blanket under a tree?

Speaking of exploring, Vienna is simply bursting with beautiful things to see! From the ornate, impossibly grand architecture to the magnificent Imperial Palace, it’s a haven for a pink tutu lover like me. Just yesterday, I spent a glorious afternoon strolling through Schönbrunn Palace, marvelling at the baroque grandeur.

But you know what else? This city is an absolute treasure trove for ballet fans! Today, I spent the morning learning about the history of ballet in Vienna at the Vienna State Opera. The guided tour was so fascinating - did you know that the waltz became a dance sensation in the 18th century, and Vienna was at its very heart? It’s little wonder ballet found its footing here! This afternoon, I’m off to the Staatsoper to watch "Giselle" - oh, it’s my absolute favourite! The sheer power of a live performance is quite unmatched!

And just because Vienna is known for its rich culture doesn’t mean I haven’t indulged in a spot of shopping! After all, every ballerina knows a well-chosen pair of ballet pumps are the ultimate fashion accessory. I simply adore Vienna's shopping streets. I’m absolutely in love with a pair of pearl-embellished ballerina pumps that I spotted in a tiny boutique on a hidden back street. And to add to my sartorial delight, I found a breathtaking pink velvet fascinator, just perfect for the opera, wouldn’t you agree?

Vienna, so far, has been an absolute delight! The people here are so friendly, and the food - oh, the food! It’s just as amazing as the culture!

But don't worry, darlings, this isn't goodbye! I'll be back next Wednesday with more adventures from my Viennese escapade!

Remember to stay tuned! In the meantime, keep those pink tutus at the ready, and always remember to embrace your inner ballerina!

Lots of love,

Emma

P.P.S If you are wondering what ballet show I performed in, this week to fund my travel to Vienna, I danced in 'Sleeping Beauty', in London, for a private event! It was for a group of lovely friends who are now my clients! They asked me to choreograph the performance and even taught them a few simple ballet steps to participate in the dance. I love bringing ballet to everyone, wherever they may be, with the added joy of seeing my pink tutus twirling alongside other ladies.
