Pink Tutu Vienna: Post #366 - A Waltz Through Vienna!

Hello my dearest Tutu Tribe!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another delightful waltz through Vienna with your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina. I'm bubbling with excitement because today, my little blog takes on its 366th post! Can you believe it? That's a whole year's worth of pink tutus, travelling adventures and balletic bliss, all packed into a vibrant little corner of the internet.

Today, we're exploring the cultural heart of Vienna. After all, where better to soak up some elegant ambience than the city of waltzes and emperors? Vienna is like a living museum, and it's been an absolute delight to experience its history and artistry through my ballet-loving lens.

Let's step back in time, shall we?

From Ballerinas to Emperors: Tracing a Path of Elegance

This week, I found myself in the majestic halls of the Vienna State Opera House. Talk about grand! The chandeliers were practically dripping with diamonds, the velvet seats were as plush as a cloud and the ornate details… well, let’s just say that the whole experience left me practically speechless.

There, in the very space where Strauss waltzes echoed for centuries, I stood awestruck, imagining the swirling tutus of countless ballerinas gracefully taking centre stage. I’m certain, my dear tutu-wearers, that a good many a pink tutu would’ve shimmied its way across those hallowed floors over the years. After all, what better colour than pink to embody the sweetness and elegance of this city?

Later, I found myself at the Schönbrunn Palace, home to Empress Elisabeth (or "Sisi" as she was affectionately known), one of history's most fashionable and graceful figures. Just wandering through the halls, gazing at her portraits and the relics of her life, was a true treat for my pink-loving soul. Her sense of style – she adored bright colours, beautiful gowns, and long flowing tresses – is the epitome of elegance. Her love of dancing and theatre was undeniable too. She wasn't a ballerina herself, but I do believe a bit of the Pink Tutu spirit runs through her veins!

Vienna in Pink: A Symphony of Fashion

It wouldn’t be a proper trip to Vienna without some delicious Viennese fashion shopping! From boutiques overflowing with beautifully handcrafted shoes and exquisite silk gowns to independent designers crafting the most exquisite pastel pinks and dreamy lilac hues, I've been having the time of my life. This city is a dream for any tutu lover like myself, with enough pastel perfection to satisfy even the most ardent pink aficionado. I've managed to snag a gorgeous little lavender fascinator and a divine blush pink scarf, and I’m already scheming about what to wear with them!

Of course, I can’t leave out my love of all things tutu! There's a delightful little vintage shop I found tucked away on a charming cobbled street where I picked up the most amazing vintage tutu for a song – it's a pale pink confection of tulle and feathers, a true masterpiece! The moment I slipped it on, I felt as though I was gliding through the city's graceful streets myself, like one of those famous Viennese waltzes!

A Train Ride Through History: A Ballet on Wheels

To get around this enchanting city, I’ve been using a trusty mix of horse-drawn carriages and the magical "Wiener Linien" train system. Imagine stepping into a Victorian-era carriage and gliding past Vienna’s most beautiful sights while a gentle "klopfklopfklopf" echoes from the horse’s hooves. Now, imagine zipping through the heart of the city in a stylish, modern tram, its interiors boasting vibrant turquoise, emerald, and rose gold, a perfect ode to Viennese chic. That's the magic of Vienna! The contrast between old and new is truly a feast for the senses, especially if you have a love for fashion, elegance, and, of course, pink tutus!

A Little Pink Inspiration for Your Wardrobe

My lovelies, before I sign off, a little sartorial inspiration for you all! The beautiful colours of Vienna have really sparked my imagination!

  • Pale pink and lilac: Channel your inner Viennese waltzing goddess with a flowing pink gown paired with a graceful lilac cardigan. Think graceful lines, feminine frills, and a touch of romantic lace!

  • White and blush: A timeless pairing perfect for strolling through Vienna's imperial gardens. Consider a crisp white sundress with a blush pink shawl draped over your shoulders for a touch of romantic charm.

  • Mint green and silver: This elegant combo is perfect for an evening at the Vienna State Opera! A mint green cocktail dress with silver jewellery and a touch of pink blush on your lips? You’ll be the picture of elegant beauty!

Remember, my darling Tutu Tribe, don't forget to rock a bit of pink in your everyday style! It doesn’t have to be a full-blown tutu, a hint of pink is enough to bring some magic and a dash of ballerina chic to any outfit. Just think, even an emperor could have worn a pink tutu, especially with the right shoes and a fabulous smile!

So, my dears, stay pink and stylish, and don’t forget to share your own Viennese adventures with me. I'd love to see what pink tutus you’ve been rocking in your neck of the woods. And remember, even if you're not a ballet dancer, or even if you've never even donned a pink tutu in your life, you can still embrace the joy of dancing through life, a little bit of grace and elegance every day!

Until next week, keep it pink!

**Love,

Emma xx**
