#PinkTutuVienna: Waltz Me Away!

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing travel enthusiast, Emma, back with another Wednesday update from the magical city of Vienna. This is #PinkTutuVienna blog post number 387 – isn’t it simply thrilling to have made it to this milestone? A big hug to all you lovelies for sticking with me on this wonderful adventure.

Today, Vienna has stolen my heart with its waltz-inducing charm! 🍂 This week, the city has truly transformed into an enchanting autumnal paradise. Imagine the most breathtaking array of golden leaves painting the grand buildings a kaleidoscope of hues, while a cool crispness kisses your cheeks – it's simply idyllic.

Vienna is known for its grandeur, its rich history and its glorious music, but the true soul of the city lies in its captivating cobbled streets and hidden corners, waiting to be explored. Just like a perfectly executed pirouette, every corner holds a delightful surprise.

Speaking of pirouettes, Vienna has ignited a special spark within my ballet-loving soul. It is, after all, the home of the renowned Vienna State Opera – the most gorgeous opera house I’ve ever set eyes upon. I can hardly believe I’m just steps away from a venue so synonymous with artistic brilliance! Imagine the grandeur, the sweeping staircase, the glittering chandeliers...Oh my, my head is spinning!

As always, I had to investigate the local tutu scene – and I wasn't disappointed. Tucked away in the quaint cobbled alleys, I discovered a delightful ballet shop brimming with pink, a haven for all things tulle! It is, of course, imperative for me to wear my new acquisition during my performance in the Vienna Opera House later tonight, it would be utter blasphemy not to! It's a vibrant shade of blush pink, and I just know it’ll match the autumnal foliage perfectly.

Speaking of performances, darling, the Viennese people love their arts. Just a short walk from my little hideaway hotel, I came across a charming little square bursting with a vibrant, street ballet performance. This ensemble, made up of all ages, was captivating. Their energy was infectious and reminded me why I love the magic of ballet so much. It brought the entire square to life.

Yesterday, I treated myself to a delicious lunch at a quaint little cafe right by the glorious Hofburg Palace. My afternoon tea was followed by a delightful, if somewhat long, carriage ride through the historic city. The pace was certainly more leisurely than my usual train travel but that is the charm of Vienna – the leisurely elegance.

While in Vienna, I simply must delve into its rich history! I’ve booked myself a private tour to explore the majestic Schönbrunn Palace, a palace where the famed Empress Elisabeth, also known as “Sisi,” once resided. A truly royal, if somewhat tragic, history, this royal beauty, the epitome of grace, was known for her enchanting gowns and her ethereal ballet performances – I wonder if they’re housed in a museum in the palace itself! I simply must discover more.

Of course, this would be a very pink adventure indeed, without some much-needed shopping therapy. So, I ventured into Vienna's fashion haven, where a plethora of glorious boutiques lured me with their enchanting window displays. While I’ve already adorned myself in a breathtaking collection of autumnal hues, a truly spectacular black and blush silk scarf, that caught my eye at a charming antique shop, found its way back to my collection.

Vienna, darling, has woven a spell on me! Tonight I will grace the stage of the Vienna Opera House for the first time – what a wonderful opportunity to let my spirit soar through dance and art! Imagine, being a part of Vienna’s cultural landscape for just one night… the waltz rhythm flowing through me, it's enough to set any ballerina’s heart a-flutter!

So, till next week darlings! Don’t forget to keep spreading the love and pink tutu power, every day. Until next Wednesday!

With Love, Emma 💖 #PinkTutuVienna
