Pink Tutu Vienna: Post No. 444 - A Viennese Waltz in Pink! 🩰💖

Hello lovelies! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another instalment of my Pink Tutu Vienna blog! This week, I'm swirling through the heart of Austria, and oh my, the city of Vienna is simply breathtaking. I've always dreamed of visiting the capital of music and culture, and let me tell you, it has completely surpassed my wildest expectations!

This week, I've been living my best "ballerina in Vienna" life! Picture it: me, in my favourite blush pink tulle tutu, swirling around the cobblestone streets, sipping on a delicious hot chocolate in a grand café, and of course, taking in the stunning architecture! Every corner here is a fairytale, with imperial palaces, opulent churches, and charming little cafes – perfect for a tutu-clad girl on the go!

But let's get back to the magic that has brought me here: ballet! You see, darling, I'm not just a tutu enthusiast, I'm a ballet lover through and through! My life is fuelled by the grace, artistry, and sheer beauty of this magnificent art form. So naturally, I couldn't resist attending a ballet performance at the legendary Vienna State Opera! It was simply phenomenal. The talent on stage was exquisite, and I was mesmerised by the stories woven through their movements, each twirl, and leap telling its own tale. Oh, and let's not forget the exquisite costumes – they were simply fabulous, fit for royalty!

Of course, my love of ballet also extends to my own tutus! Now, darling, this is a very special week for tutus, for on November 5th, we celebrate Tutu Tuesday! It's the day we celebrate the history, evolution, and simply gorgeousness of the ballet tutu! I've even been doing some research and oh my, the story of the tutu is simply fascinating! Did you know that in the early days of ballet, they used to wear big, cumbersome costumes – not the flowing tutus we know and love today! Thankfully, dancers started realising that more movement was required, and voila, the tutu was born! It's a masterpiece of costume design, a symbol of grace, and a must-have for any budding ballerina (or even just a pink-loving, tutu-obsessed blogger like myself).

I’ve already got a very special tutu picked out for this week's performance – a light pink creation with delicate floral accents that perfectly complements the waltzing vibe of Vienna. I can’t wait to twirl my way through the streets, maybe even perform a few impromptu pirouettes in front of St. Stephen's Cathedral! You never know, maybe I’ll inspire a few others to don their tutus too. After all, my goal is to have everyone in the world wearing a pink tutu at some point in their lives! (Well, perhaps not during a high-powered business meeting, but maybe for a special occasion... just sayin'!)

And speaking of twirling through the city, you’ll never guess how I got to Vienna! By train, darling! Nothing beats the charm and romance of train travel. Imagine me, perched on a plush carriage, surrounded by stunning landscapes as the train gently glides along its track. With a delicious cup of tea in my hand and a captivating book by my side, it's the perfect way to journey through a new country. I do have to confess that there was a little detour involving a charming horse-drawn carriage, just a little taste of old-world Viennese glamour!

Oh, and the shopping here is to die for! Vienna is overflowing with luxurious boutiques, antique shops, and vintage finds, just waiting to be discovered. This city is truly a paradise for any fashion lover. I'm already eyeing up a beautiful pair of silver shoes that would look divine with my new ballet tutu. And perhaps a few new vintage accessories to complement my vintage wardrobe. I may just be heading to the legendary Hofburg Palace in search of some unique treasures.

But let's not forget the most important part of any trip - the food! Vienna is a true gourmand's dream. I’ve been savoring every bite – from flaky Sachertorte to creamy Wiener Schnitzel and the freshest pastries. Of course, I’m also on a quest for the most divine pink iced cupcake, and let me tell you, Viennese confectionaries have truly outdone themselves! They know how to turn a simple treat into an unforgettable masterpiece!

As my trip draws to a close, I must admit I'm feeling a tinge of sadness, but also an overwhelming sense of happiness. This city has captivated my heart, and I already know I'll be back soon. The waltz is still echoing in my mind, the delicious scents are lingering in my nose, and my pink tutu is longing to be worn in its enchanting embrace. I can’t wait to return for another waltz with the city of Vienna and maybe even take a ballet class at the Vienna State Opera House!

Until next Wednesday, darling, keep those pink tutus twirling, and stay stylish!

With love and twirls,

Emma

P.P.S. I am funding all my adventures with the money I earn from my ballet performances. Do you know how much practise it takes to support my passion? Every single twirl counts! It’s all worth it though, because what could be more beautiful than living your passion?
