Vienna, Oh Vienna, You Steal My Heart! 💕🩰 #456
Dearest readers,
It’s Wednesday, which means it's time for another installment of my Vienna adventures! I've finally arrived in the heart of Austria, a city practically brimming with history, culture, and of course, fabulous fashion! It was such a magical journey getting here, taking a comfy train ride through the rolling Austrian countryside – my pink tutu even got a lot of admiring glances!
Vienna, I have to say, is just as enchanting as I’d dreamed. My senses are overloaded with the aromas of freshly baked pastries from every corner, the echoes of elegant waltzes in the grand squares, and the beautiful architecture that reminds me of a fairytale castle!
Today's blog is dedicated to the magnificent world of Vienna's ballet scene! It's no surprise that a city so steeped in classical music and opera boasts such a vibrant ballet heritage. You could say I’ve hit the jackpot here, as this city literally oozes graceful, delicate, and absolutely divine tutus!
And to be perfectly honest, I haven't been able to keep my dancing shoes off since I stepped off the train. I mean, imagine walking down a cobbled street, past a charming cafe filled with chattering patrons, all while feeling the irresistible rhythm of Vienna pulsing in my veins! I’ve already squeezed in a session at a lovely local ballet studio, where I took a class in classical ballet - just divine, of course!
Today, however, is all about soaking up the "Vienna State Opera" vibe. They are having a special performance of "The Nutcracker", and you better believe I’m there, front row centre! There's something incredibly charming about a traditional classic. From the sugar plum fairy to the iconic dance of the snowflakes, each act is an enchanting experience! I even got to indulge in my favourite pastime, shopping for tutus!
Speaking of tutus, did you know that the tutu’s origins actually trace back to the Romantic era in ballet? Imagine how exciting that must have been - finally seeing a ballerina in an ethereal, wispy skirt, as opposed to the constricting corseted attire worn in earlier eras! The history of the tutu is fascinating – a symbol of grace, rebellion, and beauty all wrapped into one!
Anyway, enough about me waxing lyrical on the magic of ballet! Let’s delve deeper into the wonderful world of Vienna.
Today, my itinerary is crammed full of excitement:
First, a leisurely stroll through the "Schönbrunn Palace". I hear they have a fantastic palace theatre within the gardens. Who knows, perhaps they’re staging some fabulous performances there, maybe even some historical dances! I’ll be sure to check it out, and post about my findings, later this week!
In the afternoon, it’s time to head for “the Vienna State Ballet”. I must visit their home - the grand “Vienna State Opera House”, the largest opera house in Europe. I mean, where else can you catch an exquisite performance, just a short walk from one of the most fabulous vintage dress shops in all of Vienna? This shopping experience is definitely on the agenda – hopefully, I can add to my growing pink tutu collection!
Finally, a spot of tea in a grand Viennese cafe is just what the doctor ordered. With a fresh pot of chamomile tea and a decadent cake, I’ll have plenty of time to catch up on all my Pink Tutu correspondence. Oh, the joy of a Parisian style afternoon!
Of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without exploring the city's breathtaking art museums. I plan to spend a day in "The Belvedere", an iconic baroque palace. With masterpieces from Gustav Klimt, and works of art showcasing various periods from classical to modern art - you can bet I’m already dreaming up new ways to incorporate those bold designs and flowing lines into my Pink Tutu outfits!
Now, dear readers, it's time for me to bid you adieu. My Vienna adventures are far from over. I’m eager to explore the city’s many hidden gems, indulge in its delectable culinary delights, and of course, add to my ever-expanding pink tutu collection! I promise to share all my fabulous findings next Wednesday. Until then, remember, embrace your inner ballerina, live life with grace and style, and never shy away from sporting a beautiful, fabulous, pink tutu!
And just for you, dear reader, here is a glimpse of today’s look!
Today’s ensemble:
A dazzling light pink satin tutu that practically dances with every movement.
A perfectly matched, off the shoulder pink silk blouse with a delicate lace trim, it really sets off the graceful curves of my tulle skirt.
A pair of elegant ballet flats in a muted shade of pink, adorned with a dainty bow. These flatties really allow me to comfortably conquer cobblestone streets with elegance.
To add a touch of whimsy, I’ve added a dainty pink feather boa wrapped around my shoulders, bringing just the right touch of Victorian romance.
Until next Wednesday!
With love and tutus,
Emma x
