Pink Tutu Vienna: Blog Post 460 - Vienna Waltz!

Dearest readers!

Welcome to another Wednesday and another post from your favourite pink tutu-clad adventurer! This week, I've landed in Vienna, the heart of the waltz, and oh, my darlings, it's as glamorous as you could imagine.

Vienna is steeped in history and romance, a city of grand palaces and magnificent opera houses, with cobbled streets echoing the gentle clip-clop of horse-drawn carriages. From the moment I stepped off the train (such a splendid journey, by the way, I travelled first class - worth every penny, you simply can't beat a journey with the view and a cuppa!), I felt a whirlwind of inspiration, of waltzing gowns and sparkling chandeliers, and naturally, of pink tutus, of course!

This week, Vienna is bustling with cultural delights. I had to squeeze in a visit to the Kunsthistorisches Museum, to feast my eyes on the art and history of Vienna. From Baroque masterpieces to ancient Egyptian artifacts, I felt as though I had journeyed through time! And who could forget the stunningly ornate Schönbrunn Palace? You could spend a whole day exploring its rooms and gardens, marveling at the sheer grandeur of it all. The grounds, especially, felt positively magical, dotted with hidden fountains and statues – perfect for a twirl or two in my pink tutu!

Now, Vienna is not only renowned for its history but also for its contemporary artistry. This weekend, I'll be enjoying a night of dazzling ballet at the Vienna State Opera! I hear the ballet "Swan Lake" will be performing - and I can't wait to see the stunning choreography! Imagine, a room full of beautiful people in the most elaborate gowns, the air buzzing with anticipation as the curtain rises and the graceful movements of the ballerinas begin to unfold. It's going to be glorious!

Of course, a trip to Vienna is simply not complete without some delightful shopping sprees! You see, the Austrian fashion scene is a blend of elegance and creativity, and it's definitely a haven for all things vintage. I am absolutely delighted to report that I found a darling little boutique selling vintage gowns and accessories – perfect for my evening out at the opera! It just wouldn't be the same without the perfect accessory, now, would it?

As for this pink tutu's adventures, they don't end with the theatre! Later this week, I plan on exploring the heart of Vienna with a romantic carriage ride! There's nothing like the rhythmic clip-clop of horses hooves on cobblestone to set the heart aflutter. It will be a charming journey through the heart of this enchanting city. And of course, a few "ballet poses" in my pink tutu are a must!

Speaking of which, dearest readers, remember the #PinkTutuChallenge?! I hope you are all doing a brilliant job of spreading the love for pink tutus around the world! I see so many stunning photos popping up, reminding us that joy and fun go hand in hand with pink! Keep those pictures coming – and maybe even tag me in them!

I must go now, for tomorrow brings more enchanting explorations, a ballet performance at the State Opera House and a delicious Viennese cake! Stay tuned, darlings! I’ll be posting about my adventures later this week with photos galore! Until then, keep your spirits bright and twirl your troubles away!

Until next Wednesday,

Your Emma xx
