Pink Tutu Vienna: A Ballerina's Whirlwind in the City of Dreams (Post 464)

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, so you know what that means: time for another Pink Tutu Vienna update! This week has been absolutely delightful, a perfect blend of ballet, fashion, and travel. Vienna, oh Vienna, you truly are a city of dreams!

As usual, I've been taking advantage of all this wonderful city has to offer. From the grand cafes to the bustling shops, Vienna has been a whirlwind of excitement.

Ballet, Ballet, Ballet!

Of course, I couldn't possibly be in Vienna without indulging in a bit of ballet, now could I? This week, I was lucky enough to snag tickets to a performance of Giselle at the Vienna State Opera. Goodness, the costumes! The choreography! It was simply breathtaking. The Vienna State Ballet, they're really something special! They moved with such grace and power. The whole performance had me utterly mesmerized. Afterward, I indulged in a celebratory schnitzel (the Viennese variety, of course) with my friend Sophia. What a night!

Speaking of the ballet, I finally had a chance to visit the wonderful Vienna State Opera House. Talk about grand! I mean, imagine a building designed to showcase the sheer magic of the human form in motion, that's the kind of thing they managed to achieve with this place! I was simply floored.

On Monday, I tried a new dance class - Swinging Steps at the Stephansdom! I know what you're thinking, but this wasn't any ordinary class. We learned some amazing new waltz moves right at the foot of Vienna's famous Stephansdom Cathedral. Can you imagine, dancing under those magnificent towers? I swear, I felt like I was transported to a ball from the Habsburg Empire, except instead of formal gowns, we were rocking bright pink tutus, of course. It was so much fun!

The Fashion Finds

My search for the perfect Viennese fashion finds continues! I stumbled across a little boutique tucked away on a cobblestoned street, filled with the most divine vintage treasures. It was pure ballet heaven. I picked up the cutest pink feather boa and a pair of sparkly, diamanté adorned heels – just imagine them with a fluffy tutu, divine! I'm going to use them for a ballet inspired outfit on Saturday night! Speaking of outfits, Vienna has the most amazing selection of hat shops. Imagine – you could pick out a perfect hat to complete every ballet look! You'll be reading all about my new Vienna fashion discoveries next week.

Horse and Carriage Tales

No trip to Vienna is complete without a leisurely ride in a horse-drawn carriage through the heart of the city. And who better to guide me through Vienna's charming streets than a stately black horse called Amadeus? We passed grand palaces, beautiful gardens, and the elegant Vienna Opera House, a ballet in its own right! Amadeus seemed to know exactly where he was going, he certainly kept up a good pace too, not for the faint-hearted!

Vienna Train Travel

As many of you know, I'm a bit of a train enthusiast! The European trains are like art on wheels, they truly capture a timeless elegance. This week I hopped on the OBB train, the "EuroNight", and travelled to Linz for a weekend escape! This is such a cool little town. It has a lovely, quaint charm.

You know me, I just can’t resist checking out local dance schools on my travels! And Linz has such a fabulous dancing scene. It’s just a lovely, beautiful place, perfect for ballet classes in the morning followed by afternoon excursions. It's also surprisingly affordable.

Vienna's a beautiful city for enjoying the simpler things: strolling through parks, stopping for delicious pastries, and listening to the live music that fills the streets in the evening. You know, it makes you appreciate the good things, just like those sweet, little, delicate details in a ballerina’s tutus.

Oh, Vienna, I'm in love!

Speaking of love... I’m planning on performing a few charity performances this weekend in a little café tucked away in the old town. They're going to make all sorts of delicious food and there’s talk of dancing on tables in their "Pink Tutu Ballroom" - fingers crossed for a grand waltz under the chandeliers!

See you next week, my dears! Don't forget to wear a pink tutu. You might even see me in my pink tutu here in Vienna!

Until then, stay chic, Emma

PS For those of you who are visiting Vienna soon, I would highly recommend taking a tour of the Schönbrunn Palace and Gardens - it's a breathtaking reminder of Vienna's regal past. Don't forget your pink tutu, darlings!
