Vienna, oh Vienna! My Pink Tutu Adventures (Blog Post #465)

Hello, darlings! It's Wednesday, and that means another Pink Tutu Vienna blog post from your favourite ballerina blogger. This week, I've landed in Vienna, a city that's making my heart dance! It’s been such a whirlwind since arriving, filled with tutus, waltzes, and a sprinkle of fairytale magic.

Travelling by Train to the City of Waltz

I’m getting quite the travel buff, you know. I travelled from my home in Derbyshire, England, all the way to Austria on the train, with a stop in Salzburg. Now, I don’t normally ride horses, but I found this cute little chestnut horse on the way to Salzburg, called Leo, who was just adorable! We had the most fantastic chat about Salzburg’s amazing festival and, wouldn’t you know it, I got a fantastic new headpiece at a little market there - perfect for waltzing around the squares!

Vienna: A Symphony of Pink!

Oh my, Vienna is truly a magical city. Imagine strolling along cobbled streets lined with fairytale buildings, every corner bursting with vibrant history. The coffee houses are simply divine, with decadent pastries and the most beautiful, elaborate designs. Everywhere you turn, you'll find some delightful architectural details that would make any fashionista squeal! I found this amazing vintage store overflowing with sparkling sequins, brocades, and the most stunning array of lace, all of which screamed for a Pink Tutu addition.

A Ballet Odyssey

No trip to Vienna is complete without indulging in the city’s rich ballet heritage, darlings! I saw the most breathtaking performance at the Vienna State Opera – the ballet was just sensational, and I have to confess I may have gasped in awe at one particularly stunning pirouette. It reminded me of all the fantastic costumes I have designed and crafted over the years! I adore the history of ballet costumes; each one is a work of art, telling a silent story through its intricate embellishments and dramatic movements. And my new passion? Learning more about the history of the tutu itself - it's just as intriguing as the world of ballet.

Vienna’s Hidden Gems

On Tuesday, I took a stroll around Schönbrunn Palace, home to the beautiful Imperial Family, and explored the stunning gardens and palaces within. They’re utterly charming – like something out of a storybook! And if you are a fashion enthusiast like myself, you must visit the museums! There’s so much history hidden behind these fashion items; the colours, the cuts, the intricate details! And the palace had a fantastic display of hats that you wouldn't believe, my darlings.

A Pink Tutu Dream in Vienna

But what truly makes this trip magical? I managed to spread the Pink Tutu magic throughout Vienna, darling! The people are incredibly welcoming, and I've already met so many amazing people. They were initially shy but, once I explained my Pink Tutu mission to them, we had a wonderful time together. Just the other day, I strolled through the bustling markets wearing my beautiful new pink tutu, and wouldn't you know it, a group of ladies stopped me to talk about the joy that my tutu brought them! And we shared some fantastic fashion tips - I was even tempted to buy some more pink feather boas.

A Culinary Adventure

The food here is delicious, you know. I’ve been experimenting with different pastries (oh, those pastries! You have to try the Sachertorte - utterly divine!), creamy soups, and Austrian Schnitzel, which was oh-so-scrumptious. Don't worry, I haven’t forgotten the Pink Tutu mission, though. I spotted the cutest pink strawberry teacup at the Wiener Kaffeehaus today and managed to snag one! I shall wear it with a lovely lace ribbon tied around my head as a beautiful bow, perfect for afternoon tea!

Stay Tuned for More!

Vienna has charmed my heart. From the magnificent architecture to the rich cultural scene and the delicious food (oh, I must try more of the pastries!), it’s a city that knows how to make me feel alive!

And if you are curious about how I manage to fund these amazing travels, you may be surprised to hear that my love for ballet brings me more than just pleasure! I make ends meet by performing at various venues around the world. It’s wonderful because I can share my passion and artistry while travelling and exploring!

Until next week, darlings! And remember - wear your tutu with pride.

With lots of love and a sprinkle of pink,

Emma

P.S. If you ever find yourself in Vienna, don't forget to leave a comment below, sharing your own experiences or thoughts! And if you see me around the city, don't be shy, give me a wave! I'm always happy to meet fellow fashion enthusiasts.
