Vienna, Darling! Post #474

Oh my dears, how are you all doing on this fine Wednesday?! It’s your favourite tutu-wearing ballerina Emma, here, bringing you all the pink-tastic gossip straight from Vienna, the city of music and waltz! As you all know, my adventures take me far and wide (especially when I’m riding the train to a new destination, which I absolutely love!), all fuelled by the magic of ballet. And this week, my darlings, my darling! It was Vienna that stole my heart, with its grand architecture, its beautiful people, and the most gorgeous fashion scene! Oh my, where shall I even begin?

Let’s talk fashion, shall we? Now, you know my rule, every day’s a day to wear a tutu, and I’ve been absolutely embracing that here in Vienna. It’s funny, everyone seems to be obsessed with a more classic look - beautiful tailored suits, timeless dresses, but don’t you worry, darling, I still make sure my pink tutu stands out in the crowd, adding a dash of joyful whimsy to their stylish streets! And let’s not forget my new acquisition – a stunning vintage bolero, all pink and frilly of course, which I picked up in a cute little vintage shop near the Schönbrunn Palace.

Vienna’s museums have me utterly enthralled, darlings! Last week I saw the most exquisite exhibition at the Museum of Art History. They have a dedicated wing to the great masters – Raphael, Michelangelo, Rembrandt! I mean, honestly, what a sight! And let's not forget about the Museum of Applied Arts where they have a stunning fashion collection with designs from centuries ago. My favourite piece was a stunning rococo dress, all feathers and frills - absolutely magnificent!

I am utterly enchanted by the majestic Hofburg Palace with its history that whispers through the hallways, reminding me of the glory of bygone eras. Can you even imagine, my darlings, living in such splendor? I practically tripped over myself imagining a tutu twirling in those vast ballrooms, dancing with handsome dukes and princesses in silk dresses. It's no wonder they say it's the city of dreams. I was even tempted to ask the tour guide if I could leave a tutu behind for the next group, just to bring a little bit of my Pink Tutu Vienna sparkle to the tour.

Ah, but now for my true passion, my darlings! The Vienna State Opera! I simply had to see a ballet while in this city of ballet history, and I was absolutely smitten with the exquisite Vienna State Ballet. I saw "La Sylphide," a ballet that has stolen my heart, filled with ethereal tutus, delicate choreography, and so much romance! The choreography felt almost like magic – it floated with the grace and elegance of a swan taking flight. It left me breathless, completely awestruck.

Of course, my adventures are incomplete without some delightful pastries and delicious treats! My new obsession? Sachertorte, darling! I swear it’s been impossible to resist those layers of decadent chocolate and apricot jam! It’s just pure heaven.

As always, I made sure to explore the hidden gems and charming corners of Vienna, getting lost in its quaint cafes and cobbled streets. I found this little gem of a ballet studio - Die Ballettschule. Their classes are absolutely incredible – so elegant and disciplined, like stepping into a ballet fairytale! I may have squeezed in a little ballet session myself - can’t let this fabulous training go to waste, right?

I just wanted to say how much I’ve loved this city, darlings! The beauty of the architecture, the magic of the culture, and the passion of the people… everything felt so full of charm and romance. Vienna truly felt like a fairytale come to life!

Now, tell me, darlings, what’s your dream ballet destination? Where would your Pink Tutu travel adventures take you?

Until next time, remember: always embrace life with a little pink tutu magic!

Love and sparkles,

Emma www.pink-tutu.com
