Pink Tutu Vienna: A whirl of waltz and Wiener Schnitzel (Blog Post #484)

Guten Tag, meine lieben Tutu-Fans! It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means: a brand-new Pink Tutu Vienna blog post is ready to grace your screens! I’m currently basking in the warm embrace of Vienna, a city that truly sings with culture and charm.

It's hard to believe it's been a whole week since I last sent you all a postcard from my pink-tutu-filled adventures. Time flies when you're busy twirling amongst the magnificent palaces and cobbled streets! But fear not, my lovelies, I've packed this week's post with all the Vienna delights you could possibly desire.

Let’s dive into the week’s highlights, shall we?

This past Saturday, I had the absolute pleasure of attending a truly spectacular performance at the Vienna State Opera. Can you imagine my joy? A ballet! In Vienna! Oh, the sheer magic! I knew I had to wear a special tutu for this occasion. It was a beautiful tulle number with layers upon layers of fluffy pink goodness, accented with sparkling sequins that shimmered under the elegant chandeliers of the opera house. I swear, the entire theatre was in awe. It was almost as if the ballerinas on stage were fighting for attention with my dazzling ensemble.

The ballet was a captivating story of love and loss, danced with such breathtaking grace and power. As the final curtain fell, I found myself lost in a whirl of emotions - I was mesmerized by the talent, moved by the story, and totally enthralled by the opulence of the theatre.

On a rather more leisurely note, I indulged in a truly delightful Wiener Schnitzel earlier in the week. The golden-brown crumbed veal was so incredibly tender and juicy. It was accompanied by a creamy potato salad and a glass of local Austrian wine - a truly perfect Vienna treat!

But of course, what's a visit to Vienna without a foray into its world-renowned coffee houses? The atmosphere in these elegant havens is so delightful, with the scent of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries floating through the air. It's the perfect place to indulge in a good book or simply observe the lively chatter of locals.

Speaking of observation, I had the most extraordinary chance encounter in the Prater park. As I strolled through the park, basking in the warm afternoon sun, I was utterly charmed by the sight of a beautiful white Lipizzaner stallion. Now, any horse lover knows that a Lipizzaner is no ordinary steed – they’re a breed renowned for their grace and athleticism. This magnificent creature had the most incredible black mane and tail, flowing in the breeze like liquid silk. He seemed to share my love of pink, because as I approached, he gave me the most adorable neigh and tossed his head towards my tutu, almost as if he were saluting the princess he’d stumbled upon! It was a moment I’ll never forget.

On a more historical note, this week I also ventured into the heart of Vienna's imperial past. I explored the Schönbrunn Palace, home to the Habsburg dynasty for centuries, a stunning palace filled with history, and beauty, and a testament to the grandeur of a bygone era. I’m planning to return and see the Imperial Palace soon - imagine, I might even have a little waltzing moment there, just for the photo shoot, of course!

And, what about my own personal fashion delights? Vienna's shops are an absolute haven for the fashion-conscious traveller. I spent hours exploring the charming boutiques and markets, searching for unique pieces to add to my ever-growing wardrobe. A new pink cashmere shawl is now the pride of my travel luggage, and I must say, it’s been a wonderful addition to my repertoire, especially with the Austrian nights being a bit on the chilly side! It really does complete the princess look!

You can't really have a complete Austrian experience without experiencing the local cuisine and traditional customs. So, naturally, I made sure to attend a traditional Viennese concert featuring the classic waltzes that put Austria on the map. And of course, the dancing was something I couldn't resist – oh, those waltzing movements! There's a reason why Viennese waltz has been captivating the world for centuries!

Oh, my loves! I truly hope this peek into my Viennese escapades has brought a little touch of sunshine into your day. Keep a look out for next week's blog as I continue to explore this enchanting city. And remember, never be afraid to embrace the pink tutu lifestyle – it's a wonderful way to bring a bit of magic into your own life, no matter where you are in the world.

Until next week, stay sparkly and keep twirling!

Yours always,

Emma
