Pink Tutu Vienna - Post #535: A Whirlwind Waltz Through Vienna! 🩰

Hello, darling dears! It's Emma, your Pink Tutu Princess, and I'm positively giddy to be writing to you from Vienna, the city of waltzes and wonders!

As you know, this Wednesday's blog is always dedicated to my Vienna adventures. This week, Vienna has been positively dripping in sunshine, much to my delight - as a ballerina, the perfect day includes blue skies, a gentle breeze and a generous dollop of pink, naturally!

I must say, Vienna has stolen my heart. From the moment I stepped off the train - which, by the way, was such a charming old steam train, puffing and chugging its way through the countryside. It made me feel like a character in a vintage ballet! - I've been swept away by the elegance of the city.

Of course, my trip started with a waltz. Or, should I say, a whirlwind waltz through the streets of Vienna, in my glorious pink tutu! It seemed only fitting to pay homage to the city's legendary dancing heritage. Imagine, if you will, a vision in pale pink tulle, twirling amongst the cobblestone streets, my laughter carried on the warm summer breeze!

Vienna has so much to offer a ballerina like me! I've already enjoyed several delightful outings.

  • The Imperial Opera House: It's quite simply breathtaking! The chandeliers sparkle like a million stars, and the sheer grandeur of the place sent shivers down my spine! I even got to visit the museum, learning all about the history of the Vienna State Opera - it’s one of the most significant opera houses in the world, did you know that? - and admire beautiful costumes from famous ballets!

  • A Ballet Masterclass at the Vienna State Ballet: I couldn’t resist trying out my pointe shoes at this renowned school. What an incredible opportunity! Imagine a room filled with such incredible talent, all united in their love for ballet! The teachers were incredible and I was utterly inspired by the students. I think they may even have inspired me to finally face the barre again, after years of focusing solely on performance. Maybe it's time for a new chapter in my dance journey?

  • The Schonbrunn Palace: I was utterly enchanted by this majestic palace! Picture an expansive garden, bursting with roses, and a majestic building with ornate details, a ballet dancer’s dream come true! I even took a carriage ride - it was like stepping back in time, all swirling skirts and romantic horse-drawn carriages. You could almost hear the whispers of history as you journeyed through the palace grounds. Truly enchanting!

But you know, a Pink Tutu Princess’s day isn’t complete without indulging in a bit of fashion! Oh my, have I been shopping! I snagged the most adorable hat, a beautiful ivory and cream number, that will perfectly match my new pair of pink ballet shoes. And oh, the delicate, intricately crafted dresses! The ladies of Vienna seem to have such an eye for elegant fashion! It seems pink is definitely in here in Vienna, so I’m thrilled to see all my fellow pink-loving ladies sporting such gorgeous gowns and shoes.

This evening, I'm attending the "Ballet unter den Sternen" event in the gardens of Schönbrunn Palace. Under the glittering Vienna night sky, there will be a dazzling ballet performance featuring a company of talented young dancers, showcasing the graceful art form I hold so dear. I’m expecting it to be truly magical, a dreamlike blend of classical elegance and twinkling night stars!

But what else could you expect, darling dears, from your very own Pink Tutu Princess? Vienna, you've captured my heart with your elegance and artistic soul, and I’m already plotting my return to this enchanting city. I've no doubt that this waltz through Vienna is only the beginning of a beautiful ballet!

Until next week, darling dears, remember to wear your pink tutus with pride, let your spirits soar like swans, and twirl through life with joy!
