Vienna, Vienna, Vienna! - Pink Tutu Blog Post No. 567

Hello, darlings! It’s Emma, your Pink Tutu Princess, back from Vienna, a city bursting with such incredible beauty it nearly sent my tulle skirt into a whirl!

Vienna has always held a special place in my heart - it's the land of waltz, Strauss, and exquisite culture. This week’s adventures began in Derbyshire, where I was lucky enough to perform at a charity gala. The venue was a grand old manor house, its walls adorned with swirling floral wallpaper and the scent of honeysuckle in the air. And guess what? I even wore a new tutu for the occasion - a blush pink masterpiece, all gossamer silk and flowing layers. I was absolutely twirling with joy!

After the gala, I packed my luggage with an assortment of my favourite tutus - because, as you know, a girl can never have too many! I then boarded the Eurostar from London to Paris, feeling like a modern-day Marie Antoinette, ready to conquer the continent. And the best part? The entire train carriage was enthralled by my outfit. You can't beat a well-chosen tutu for making an entrance!

Arriving in Vienna, I was transported to a fairytale world! Baroque architecture, sprawling parks filled with flowering trees, and horse-drawn carriages clinking down cobbled streets... pure magic. Of course, my first stop was to check into the most luxurious hotel in the city, with its elegant pink décor (naturally!). My room overlooked the majestic St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the sight of which almost sent me into a pirouette!

Tutu Adventures in Vienna

The first thing I had to do was get myself a Vienna Pass - essential for navigating all the amazing things this city offers. Next on my agenda: ballet, ballet, ballet! I just had to experience Vienna's State Opera House - a building as breathtaking as the performances it houses. My first ballet, "La Sylphide," was a whirlwind of ethereal tutus and exquisite choreography. Seeing those ballerinas grace the stage was truly inspiring!

Following the performance, I joined a local ballet class – something I always try to do when visiting a new city. The studio, housed in a charming courtyard, was bathed in warm light, with floral wallpaper (how delightful!) It was a truly lovely class with several talented dancers, and even a little tea and petit fours after!

After class, I took a horse-drawn carriage ride through the heart of the city. Just picture it: me in my vibrant pink tutu, a vision in pink silk and tulle, enjoying the gentle sway of the carriage as we passed iconic buildings like the Hofburg Palace and the Schönbrunn Palace. It felt as if I'd stepped back in time to the era of elegance and romance!

And who could resist a bit of shopping in Vienna? The city is a treasure trove of fashion finds. I managed to snag a stunning pink chiffon dress that'll be perfect for a Parisian ballet performance next month (watch this space, darlings!). I also picked up some fabulous jewellery, shoes and, of course, a new pair of dance shoes - perfect for twirling through the charming streets of Vienna.

Fashionable Findings and Delectable Delights

I know you’re wondering what else I ate during my Vienna trip (who wouldn’t?!) It’s Vienna, after all! I savoured the city’s renowned coffee culture. Forget your ordinary lattes, darlings! In Vienna, they offer coffee creations that taste like dessert, served with a delicate sprinkle of cinnamon. I even found a delightful little patisserie that created edible tutus – pure sugar heaven!

Vienna’s food markets were a symphony of textures, colours, and fragrances! Freshly baked breads, succulent sausages, the sweet scent of fruit, the earthy aroma of local vegetables – a truly sensory experience!

I enjoyed a hearty bowl of Vienna's famous Wiener Schnitzel (tender, crispy and delicious!) followed by Sachertorte, a chocolate masterpiece that almost melted in my mouth! And speaking of sweet treats, I couldn't leave Vienna without trying the world-famous apple strudel. Flaky, crispy pastry filled with warm apple and cinnamon – pure perfection!

Tutu Totes for My Readers!

Remember those tutus I snagged for my latest charity gala performance? Well, a few are still available. I’ve got a blush pink masterpiece (the one I described earlier), a whimsical ivory tutu with silk flowers, and a dramatic black and red ensemble, perfect for those with a little extra edge in their style! I’ve listed all these gorgeous garments on my website, Pink-Tutu.com. So hurry and treat yourself to something extra special. These beautiful tutus will make you feel like a princess.

This trip to Vienna was truly unforgettable – from the captivating ballet performances to the dazzling architecture, to the delectable cuisine and the city's rich history, Vienna captured my heart with its fairytale charm. If you ever get the chance, go! Just remember to bring a pink tutu with you!

Until next week, darling, when I share more adventures from the world of dance and fashion, stay fabulous!

Yours always, Emma, The Pink Tutu Princess.
