Pink Tutu Vienna - Post #632: Waltz into Vienna, My Darlings!

Wednesday, 13th June, 2007

Oh, Vienna! You've stolen my heart faster than a pirouette. I arrived yesterday by train, the glorious scent of freshly baked strudel filling the air as we pulled into the station. Iโ€™m already giddy with excitement, darling!

My tutu bag, brimming with frills and fabulousness, nestled comfortably on the seat beside me, making the journey positively enchanting. Letโ€™s just say, even the seasoned Austrian train drivers gave my ensemble a second look! The twinkle in their eyes? Totally justified, darling. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Viennese charm is palpable - cobbled streets bathed in warm sunshine, elegant cafes brimming with chatter and laughter, and the majestic Vienna State Opera, its grandeur a testament to a bygone era of artistry. And don't even get me started on the architecture, darling! Baroque buildings adorned with whimsical sculptures โ€“ itโ€™s as if the city itself is wearing a gorgeous, grand costume.

Now, if you know anything about me, you know my passion for all things dance โ€“ especially ballet! So, I wasted no time in securing tickets for the Vienna State Opera. Today, darling, I saw โ€œDie Fledermaus,โ€ an opera by Johann Strauss! Oh my, the music! It floated through the air like spun sugar, every note a sweet, enchanting melody. The performers were exquisite, each movement precise and powerful, a stunning blend of graceful elegance and technical prowess. I could have stayed for another five hours, but alas, duty calls โ€“ thereโ€™s still so much of Vienna to explore!

Of course, I did indulge in a little post-opera retail therapy at a delightful boutique filled with exquisite silks and frothy laces โ€“ perfect for making a Parisian ballerina feel at home, eh? Just a teensy little dress, a fluffy scarf and a few shoes โ€“ no harm in a bit of wardrobe expansion when youโ€™re living your best life, right? The lovely lady at the boutique complimented my pink tutu and said it complemented my style perfectly. "Perfectly Viennese," she said. "Perfectly charming". And darling, you know I just had to grab a quick selfie in front of the famous Wiener Riesenrad (the Giant Ferris wheel) with my newly acquired items. Let's just say the photos are already trending on #PinkTutuVienna!

But, Vienna, it's not just about waltzing through history, though that certainly plays a starring role in my experience.

Vienna is a city pulsating with a contemporary heart too โ€“ trendy boutiques bursting with cutting-edge designs, independent galleries exhibiting bold new talent, and hip coffee shops where the energy buzzes with creativity.

Oh, and the pastries! I haven't encountered such glorious creations of fluffy dough, whipped cream and exquisite flavors. Each bite a masterpiece, an explosion of sweet delight. Vienna, you're truly winning me over!

Today, though, darling, I'm focusing on something even more fabulous: the Wiener Staatsoper ballet! Vienna boasts some of the most esteemed ballet dancers in the world, so it's a veritable feast for the senses, I tell you! I can't wait to lose myself in the elegance of their movements and let their artistry inspire me. Imagine: a whole evening devoted to swirling skirts and elegant pointe shoes โ€“ pure bliss!

Tomorrow, darling, I'm going to visit the Kunsthistorisches Museum. A majestic palace filled with world-famous paintings and sculptures, this place is positively oozing with artistic history, and of course, I will wear a fabulous tutu ensemble as a tribute to the fashion-forward women who roamed the halls centuries ago.

Stay tuned, darlings, as I reveal my latest Vienna adventures โ€“ pink, of course! โ€“ on www.pink-tutu.com, next Wednesday!

* Until then, spread the love of the tutu!*

Love, Emma xxx

P.S. Remember, I'm funding my travels through my ballet performances, darling! So, keep checking out the Pink Tutu website for details on my next dazzling appearance.
