Pink Tutu Vienna: Post #648 ā€“ A Whirlwind of Waltz and Wiener Schnitzel!

Guten Tag, darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another exciting entry from your favourite pink-tutu-clad blogger, straight from the heart of Vienna! This week has been a glorious explosion of culture, fashion, and ā€“ of course ā€“ tutus. Let me tell you, darling, Vienna has a je ne sais quoi about it that makes my little ballerina heart soar.

Before I get to the highlights of the week, let me just tell you: itā€™s fabulous to be in Vienna. Vienna is so romantic and I am loving everything about it! Thereā€™s so much to explore, so much history to delve into and, dare I say, some of the most delectable Schnitzel I've ever tasted! Honestly, darlings, it's hard to not love this place!

But, you all know that I am first and foremost, a ballerina! And, my dear, the ballet scene here is phenomenal! The Vienna State Opera has been on my list for years, and I was not disappointed! A gorgeous performance of "The Sleeping Beauty", with stunning sets and exquisite choreography. And can we talk about the tutus? Fabulous darling, simply fabulous! I even found a little boutique tucked away in a cobblestone street, a little treasure trove of ballet tutus, and let's just say I couldn't resist a little souvenir, or five, for myself! I can't wait to wear them all during my upcoming performances!

My days have been filled with a lovely mix of exploration and ballet, interspersed with delicious lunches in traditional Viennese cafĆ©s (and oh, the pastries! I must mention the Sacher-Torte - simply divine!). My mornings are filled with Ballet Street sessions with Viennaā€™s wonderful dancers - their technique is breathtaking!

Speaking of ballet darlings, it wouldn't be a Vienna visit without a touch of Johann Strauss! Iā€™ve spent some wonderful evenings taking in some of the most amazing performances of the "Blue Danube Waltz" that Iā€™ve ever seen, dancing my way into the heart of the Viennese waltz tradition. Youā€™ve gotta know darling, if Iā€™m going to be in Vienna, then I have to get a little waltzing practice in! I must say, dancing alongside the Viennese waltz experts made me feel so glamorous - like a scene straight out of a movie.

But, Viennaā€™s charm isnā€™t limited to its buildings and ballet! Oh darling! This city is positively bursting with exquisite fashion. From high-end boutiques to quirky independent stores, the variety here is just incredible. I picked up a fabulous blush pink tulle scarf, and I can't resist a new pair of gloves for the upcoming cold season (because itā€™s not Vienna without a hint of frosted glamour!) It's been all about pink, champagne pink, pale pink ā€“ oh the lovely pastel shades of pink! I must add itā€™s very difficult to keep to my travel allowance - the temptation of pink clothes, pink bags and of course, pink tutus is hard to resist!

And now, onto the transport that took me across this delightful city!

Travelling by train to Vienna was so lovely - you know how I adore travelling by rail, the gentle rumble, the charming countryside... and darling, Vienna's Central Station is simply exquisite, a masterpiece of Victorian architecture! But here in Vienna, I found myself drawn to another mode of transport, something more elegant, something charming... I know what you're thinking! Of course, I'm talking about horse-drawn carriages! Thereā€™s just something so magical about those horses, with their powerful yet gentle nature, pulling a carriage filled with elegance, beauty and whimsy. I loved taking a scenic tour, and felt like I was in a fairytale - it was absolutely magical! I felt like a ballerina from an old-time Viennese Ballet Company.

My favourite thing this week was spending the afternoon in the Schƶnbrunn Palace gardens! I wandered around the elegant gardens, enjoying a delicious afternoon tea in a cozy cafe (and of course, they served their own special kind of tea infused with rose petals ā€“ just darling, darling!). I also took a guided tour through the Palace - so fascinating to hear stories about Emperor Franz Joseph, Empress Elizabeth and, of course, the young Maria Theresa! I even bought a cute little porcelain version of the Schƶnbrunn Palace! (Donā€™t worry darling, I can squeeze that in my suitcase).

It really is all about that ā€˜Pink Tutuā€™ Vienna charm, darlings! You see, Vienna is a place where the elegance of old-world charm mingles seamlessly with modern trends. But in the end, darlings, no matter where I go, Iā€™m always spreading my love of pink tutus and that whimsical ballet touch.

I know some of you might think ā€œa ballerina wearing pink tutus travelling the world?ā€ - and darling, maybe you are right! I may not have it all figured out. But the world needs some pink! The world needs more tutu! And it definitely needs more ballerina! So come join me on this delightful journey as we explore new cities and indulge in everything beautiful, enchanting and most definitely, pink! Until next week, darlings.

Xx
