Vienna Waltz: Pink Tutu Edition (Post #672)

Hello my darling tutus! It's your favourite pink-tastic ballerina, Emma, reporting live from the heart of Vienna! I just had to share this exquisite city with you all, and trust me, this trip is going down in the tutu-wearing history books!

Firstly, I simply had to get here by train, didn't I? I mean, who needs boring planes when you can enjoy a picturesque journey through rolling hills and charming towns? My train, a glorious old-fashioned model with plush velvet seats, even had a little carriage for the luggage! And speaking of luggage, I obviously packed my favourite pink tutu, several adorable matching dresses (you know, just in case), and enough sparkly accessories to light up a whole opera house!

Vienna is everything you could imagine and more! The city just oozes history, with magnificent palaces, charming cafes, and of course, stunning theatres where legends of ballet graced the stage! You'd think the cobblestone streets were made for dancing, don't you? My tutu and I simply had to put on a show for the locals. I mean, what better way to experience Vienna than with a pink tutu pirouette in front of the Vienna State Opera?

Speaking of ballet, I simply had to visit the Vienna State Opera. The building itself is breathtaking, a majestic symphony in white and gold, and the inside is just as awe-inspiring. Imagine my joy when I learned they were having a gala night showcasing the works of my absolute favourite, Marius Petipa! Honestly, my dear readers, I could have watched that performance for hours! Every graceful move, every intricate costume, every note of the music... it was pure magic! I even saw some other amazing tutus in the audience, albeit less vibrant than mine.

And of course, what would a trip to Vienna be without a little shopping spree? My goodness, this city is a haven for stylish shoppers! I discovered a darling boutique overflowing with vintage fabrics perfect for my next tutu creation, and picked up some charming Austrian-style dresses (you know, for the occasions when I have to forgo my tutu, though those are few and far between!).

Now, I wouldn't be true to my pink-tutu-wearing roots if I didn't share a little fashion tip! When in Vienna, it's absolutely essential to embrace the traditional dress. Imagine yourself in a chic black dress with a little bow at the neck, complete with a pair of black, kitten-heeled pumps, and of course, my favourite finishing touch: a dazzling pink tutu! Trust me, my darlings, it's a recipe for pure Vienna charm.

But hold on, my darlings, the day is not over! The cherry on top of this delicious Vienna sundae is the enchanting Schönbrunn Palace. Picture this: the magnificent architecture, the perfectly manicured gardens, and me, your very own pink-tutu-wearing princess, dancing amongst the roses! I'll admit, it felt a little strange pirouette-ing near a baroque palace, but I believe in spreading the joy of dance, even if it means defying royal tradition!

Speaking of dancing, this evening I am heading to a classical concert in a beautiful Baroque church. Vienna is famous for it's waltz and this night will be no exception, with live orchestra and ballet interludes! It’s a good thing I brought my lucky tutu – you never know what opportunities will arise for a ballerina in the heart of a waltz-mad city!

Oh, before I forget, don’t forget to check out the ballet school in Vienna – it has one of the best collections of historic dance costumes – and I don’t mean your normal fluffy, lacy tulle creations – these were for ballerinas a century ago. They had boned corsets and had to be a bit more functional than fashionable – interesting stuff to get your creative juices flowing!

I must go now, darlings, it's time to prepare for my next Vienna adventure! Remember, keep twirling and never let your love for pink tutus fade! I'll be back next Wednesday with more Viennese wonders to share! Until then, stay beautiful and wear your pink with pride!

Lots of love, Emma
