I'm writing to you from the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria. It’s a fairytale city, and let me tell you, it's everything a pink tutu-wearing girl could possibly dream of! 😍
A Tutu Tale From Derbyshire
Remember those cobbled streets and quaint tea rooms of Derbyshire where I grew up? You bet I do! I still can't resist the call of a charming bakery, even here in Vienna! But trust me, the world is a stage, and my ballerina feet are itching to explore every inch of it. So here I am, taking a train from Derbyshire straight to the heart of Europe!
Train Tracks and Tutu Dreams
Now, don’t even think for a second that I boarded this train in anything less than a fabulous pink tutu! I mean, what's more iconic than a pink tutu swirling around the carriage while I sip on tea and watch the scenery fly by? 🚂 I paired my trusty tutu with a chic blush pink cardigan and my favourite silver ballet flats – every detail counts when you’re spreading the pink tutu revolution, you know! 💖
Viennese Waltz & The Ballet Obsession
Vienna! Home to the iconic Vienna State Opera, one of the most magnificent opera houses in the world! Talk about the perfect place to unleash my inner ballerina. You wouldn't believe the amount of beautiful ballet performances they have here, with shows like Swan Lake, Giselle and the Nutcracker! 🤩 The history here, oh it’s so rich – just like the delectable cakes from Demel, which I sampled today – all rich cocoa and chocolate, perfect after a gorgeous performance at the Opera!
The Vienna State Ballet is an institution. The precision and passion are just unbelievable! It’s so exhilarating! But this city doesn’t just boast one fabulous theatre. I’ve found so many other places for live performances. Street dancing and even the ballet workshops at the “Wiener Volksoper" – talk about a dancer's paradise! It truly is like a fairytale come to life!
Shopping Like a Princess 🛍️
Of course, a ballerina can’t resist a spot of shopping! Vienna is a shopping haven, with gorgeous boutiques selling the most exquisite ballet-inspired outfits and shoes – the perfect pick-me-up after a long day of performances! From ballet-flat flats in shades of pink to glittery evening gowns, the options are endless! This weekend, I'm planning to splurge on a new, oh-so-elegant tutu.
You see, here in Vienna, you’re always surrounded by inspiring fashion. And I'm always on the lookout for the perfect tutu, be it for a showstopping performance or a casual stroll through the park! I have found some absolutely exquisite vintage tutus here, I just have to work up the courage to negotiate the price – but who wouldn’t for a piece of tutu-history? 😉
Vienna on Horseback – Tutu and the Trapped Horse! 🐴
Speaking of fairytale moments, who doesn’t dream of riding through the streets of Vienna on a handsome steed? And not just any horse – a pure-bred Lipizzaner! Well, that’s what I’m doing tomorrow! I’m heading to the Spanish Riding School, one of the oldest and most renowned riding schools in the world!
Let me tell you, seeing those Lipizzaner stallions perform in their iconic white coats is like stepping right out of a storybook! They dance with grace, strength and power. Just seeing them move was truly mesmerizing. I have a sneaking suspicion that it will take all my willpower to resist getting back on that handsome horse - they truly are works of art, just like my darling tutus! 😍
Sharing the Pink Tutu Love!
Speaking of spreading the tutu love, I must tell you all about the amazing response to my pink tutu campaign! In the cafes, in the park, I see people wearing pink tutus, or at least incorporating the pink color into their outfits! And just yesterday, this charming gentleman on a train offered me a rose. It seems that the love for tutus is even spreading beyond the world of ballet!
So, my dear pink tutu-loving friends, are you ready to embrace the pink tutu lifestyle? Vienna has ignited my passion even more. You are all part of the tutu revolution!
