Pink Tutu Vienna: Episode 695 - A Whirlwind Waltz Through Vienna!

Guten Tag, my darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another pink-tutu-filled adventure from yours truly, Emma, live from the vibrant city of Vienna! I can already hear you giggling as you read the title – "a whirlwind waltz" – but I assure you, it's as much fun as it sounds! This week, I've been swept up in the magic of Vienna, a city that, dare I say, even outdoes Paris for its stunning architecture, rich history, and of course, its delicious cakes. Oh, and the coffee! ☕️

Vienna's Call: After another exhilarating run of performances in my beloved Derbyshire, it was time for a change of scenery. And let's be honest, who could resist the allure of waltzing around the Schönbrunn Palace, getting lost in the charming cobbled streets, and maybe even spotting a genuine Viennese waltz at a traditional café? 💃🏻 This week has been a total whirl, in the best way possible!

Tutu Travel Tips: Of course, being a travelling ballerina means a carefully curated travel wardrobe. This week's ensemble? My signature pink tutu (can you guess the shade?), a pretty pastel-hued blouse, and my trusty travelling satchel that fits a ballet slipper and a portable sewing kit (never leave home without one, darlings!). Oh, and a little something special – a delicate feather boa, perfect for adding that touch of Vienna flair to any occasion.

Ballet-ical Beginnings: I started my Viennese odyssey by paying homage to one of the most famous ballet venues in the world – the Vienna State Opera. I just adore this historic theatre. The sheer beauty of the grand interior, with its plush velvet seating, ornate chandeliers, and breathtaking frescoes, took my breath away. And imagine my delight when I spotted a small, vintage ballet poster for a production of Swan Lake! It reminded me of the power and grace of the iconic Tchaikovsky ballet, and its intricate steps.

Train, Tram, and the "Schnitzel-Train": This time around, I decided to embrace a little bit of travel nostalgia and hopped on a glorious train ride to Vienna. It felt like I stepped into a classic novel, with views of rolling countryside and charming villages whizzing by. There’s something so magical about traveling by train! It allowed me to relax and soak in the beautiful surroundings – much more enjoyable than battling with grumpy airport security, don’t you think?

Speaking of trains, have you heard about Vienna’s legendary “Schnitzel-Train”? It’s a tourist-favorite experience where you can savour the city's most iconic dish while enjoying the city’s most famous views. My inner gourmand can't wait to try it!

Whimsical Waltz with the Emperor: Of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without a visit to the Schönbrunn Palace. It's truly a fairy tale castle, with its manicured gardens, magnificent fountains, and, best of all, the beautifully restored Baroque interiors. I wandered through the various chambers, including the opulent royal apartments where Emperor Franz Joseph I once resided, all while imagining grand waltzes being danced in the elegant halls!

Fashionably Viennese: This city is an absolute haven for fashion lovers! Every corner seemed to brim with charming boutiques, brimming with delicate lace, shimmering jewels, and decadent fabrics. You know me, a pink tutu is always in order when visiting new cities! So I, of course, had to try on several tutus, all crafted from different fabrics, ranging from tulle and chiffon to lace and organza! It was an utter delight!

The Pink Tutu Café (Coming Soon!): And speaking of fashion, a secret ambition of mine is to one day open a cafe in Vienna, a place that embraces all things pink, tutus, and elegant Viennese style! Imagine sipping on a delicious Vienna coffee in the heart of the city, surrounded by beautiful tutus, vintage fashion, and whimsical decorations. A perfect setting for afternoon tea, a delicious schnitzel, or even a little waltz session in my signature pink tutu!

A Grand Finale with Viennese Waltz: My Vienna adventures wouldn’t be complete without a touch of elegance and romance. So I booked tickets to attend a truly authentic Viennese Waltz performance in a beautiful ballroom. Imagine me, twirling gracefully under the ornate crystal chandelier, feeling the rhythm of the waltz pulsing through the room. Pure magic, my dears! It was truly magical.

My dear Pink Tutu Posse, Vienna is a city that truly captivated my heart, leaving me wanting more. From the grandeur of the palaces to the intimate charm of the traditional cafes, this city truly has it all! Don't forget, I will be sharing my journey through this captivating city each week here on Pink Tutu Vienna, on Wednesdays! And remember, always add a little pink and a touch of tutu to every journey – it’s a guaranteed way to inject a bit of joy into every adventure.

Bis bald! Emma 💕
