Vienna, oh Vienna! (Post #700)
Hello, darling dears! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind week in Vienna! As always, it's a treat to be back on the blog. My train journey here was a right romantic one - windows fogging up, a little bit of snow on the mountains, and the most gorgeous pink sunrise. It's funny how even nature can be so very in tune with my beloved colour! 😉
Now, as many of you know, Vienna is a city that's absolutely bursting with culture, particularly where the arts are concerned. This time round, I'm lucky to have some shows lined up that are right up my alley. My first stop tonight is a beautiful little performance by the Vienna Ballet at the Schönbrunn Palace - I just can't wait to see the costumes! I bet there'll be some fabulous tutus.
I even took a private carriage ride through the heart of the city last night! A beautiful pair of white horses pulled my little carriage along cobbled streets. The whole experience had a sort of Cinderella feel to it. I'm already wondering where I can fit in some time for a lovely horsey ride to the local stables before I leave. It wouldn't be a trip to Vienna without one, darling!
I did tell you, it’s all about ballet history in this lovely city. So this afternoon, I'm taking myself off to the Austrian National Library - their ballet collection is rather fab, you know. You’d think with all the tutus I own, I wouldn't need to spend time looking at ballet history - but there's just something so delightful about reading about those ballerinas of old. The style, the artistry, and the beautiful gowns. A true source of inspiration for any Tutu enthusiast.
Speaking of gowns... shopping, darling! Shopping in Vienna is divine, I promise. They have a little vintage shop by the Stephansdom that I fell in love with, full of antique jewelry and exquisite antique fabrics that have just begged to be turned into something rather dazzling for a special occasion. I think I'll be sewing away at something a bit glamorous to wear for tonight's performance. And then there are all the shops in the Old Town! Honestly, it’s enough to give you a spin!
There’s simply no such thing as too much pink when it comes to clothes, in my opinion! And trust me, this city doesn't disappoint in that regard. My wardrobe is practically bursting with new things, including this stunning pink cashmere scarf I found in a charming little boutique. So chic, and it goes beautifully with the colour of my newest tutu. Yes, you read that right! I even managed to snag a brand-new one - it's a little bit shorter and has a glorious frou-frou design.
Tonight, after the performance, I'm going to pop over to the lovely Café Sacher - the home of the famous Sachertorte, no less! They tell me it's a Viennese institution and an absolute must for any gourmand, but what’s a little treat amongst friends? A glass of champagne with some Sachertorte sounds just right to celebrate a good night at the ballet, don't you think?
I know I've been pretty gushing about ballet, Vienna, and fashion this week, but that’s just the way my heart beats! There's just something magical about these beautiful things that fills me with so much joy. I love sharing this passion with you, and I hope it inspires you to seek out beauty, culture, and a little bit of fun wherever you go.
But really, my friends, the most important thing in life is to embrace your inner sparkle and let it shine brightly! Whether you wear a pink tutu, a glittering ballgown, or your favourite jeans, remember to wear your heart on your sleeve - and a touch of pink in your soul! 💕
Until next Wednesday,
Emma x
