Pink Tutu Vienna: Post 769 - A Whirlwind of Waltz & Wiener Schnitzel!

Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, your favourite tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger, coming to you live from the heart of Vienna! As always, it’s Wednesday and I’m buzzing with excitement to share my latest adventures. This week, I've been living my very best waltz-worthy life, indulging in everything from majestic ballet performances to, you guessed it, a good dose of shopping therapy. Let’s dive in!

A Fairy Tale in the Austrian Capital

I arrived in Vienna on Tuesday evening, the train journey a whirlwind of excitement. The carriage was filled with the happy chatter of tourists, all of them probably dreaming of their own waltzing moments. As I gazed out of the window at the Austrian countryside, a feeling of pure bliss settled over me. Vienna has always been a city I’ve dreamt of exploring - the home of the Waltz, a place steeped in history, and, most importantly, a haven for the beautiful arts.

My hotel room was pure decadence – all floral patterns, elegant drapes, and a vintage gramophone that I absolutely had to give a whirl! Naturally, I couldn’t resist pulling out my pink tulle for a little impromptu photoshoot on the balcony. (It's practically an art form at this point, let's be honest.) I’ve always been a firm believer that a pink tutu is a perfect outfit for any occasion, whether it be a leisurely stroll around a city park or attending a royal ball (although I do draw the line at wearing it to a formal state dinner).

A Trip to the Vienna State Opera

Of course, no visit to Vienna is complete without experiencing its famous opera. Yesterday evening, I had the absolute pleasure of attending a performance of La Bohème at the Vienna State Opera House. It was a breathtaking spectacle. From the magnificent, gold-gilded architecture to the passionate voices of the singers, every single detail was flawlessly executed. My tutu was definitely a talking point as I glided down the plush velvet staircases – talk about a perfect dress for a night of artistic indulgence!

Fashion, Shopping and the Art of the Wiener Schnitzel

Today, I embraced the delightful Parisian-esque flair of Vienna. I strolled along the elegant Kärntner Strasse, where the shops are simply divine! A dress for my upcoming ballet performance in Salzburg caught my eye, so of course, I treated myself. (It’s pink, with a hint of delicate tulle, what else could it be?) And speaking of indulgence, how can I visit Vienna and not partake in the quintessential Wiener Schnitzel? I enjoyed a truly decadent meal at a charming, traditional restaurant tucked away on a side street. The crispy, perfectly cooked meat paired with fluffy potato salad was pure heavenly bliss!

More Adventures Ahead

Tomorrow, I’ll be delving deeper into Vienna's fascinating ballet scene. I’ve booked a class at a local studio, and later on, I’m planning on visiting the Museum of Ballet, where I’ll get to delve into the history of ballet from its origins to modern times. Of course, there’ll be lots of tutu inspiration!

And on Saturday, I have a secret surprise planned - a romantic carriage ride through the heart of Vienna. Oh, how I simply adore those graceful, majestic creatures.

So, as I continue to explore the enchanting city of Vienna, I encourage you to join me in my little pink-tutu-wearing adventures! Until next week, stay inspired, darling, and don't forget, there's always a little magic to be found when you wear a pink tutu.

With love and sparkles,

Emma x
