Pink Tutu Vienna: A Ballet-Filled Bonanza in the City of Waltz! (Post #768)

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Guten Tag, my darlings!

I'm back in Vienna, and it feels like coming home. The city's embracing me with open arms, just like its majestic architecture. It's no surprise that I've always loved Vienna; after all, this is where the waltz was born, and I've got a waltz in my heart. The music, the buildings, the culture – everything here is steeped in history and elegance, and my inner ballerina couldn't be more delighted!

Speaking of ballet, let's get right down to business!

A Ballet Odyssey:

This week, Vienna has been a whirlwind of graceful steps and twirling tutus. I've seen more ballet shows in the last few days than I've seen tutus at a birthday party! My heart's been leaping like a prima ballerina at the Vienna State Opera, where I witnessed a performance of Swan Lake that simply took my breath away. The costumes were utterly fabulous – those swan feathers looked as if they had been kissed by angels! And the performance? Simply mesmerising. It was a tale of love, betrayal, and swans, of course. Honestly, I could have watched those dancers float through the air all night!

I can’t mention the State Opera without bringing up my personal fashion choice. Now, I know a full pink tutu might have been a little too flamboyant for this particular occasion. However, a blush-pink shawl with delicate lace detail? Now that’s what I call elegance and a nod to the ballet theme! I can’t help but match my attire to the ballet theme, wouldn't you agree?

Speaking of tutus, did you know Vienna has a long and illustrious history of tutus? Just like a vintage shop filled with beautiful garments, this city holds a treasure trove of historical dance outfits. If you find yourself in Vienna, be sure to check out the Theater Museum, where you can explore a beautiful collection of costumes, from the grand court ballets of the Habsburgs to the elegant tutu designs of the 19th and 20th centuries. It's a dream for a tutu fanatic like myself.

Vienna's Delights: Beyond Ballet:

And it’s not all about ballet, you know. Vienna’s charm extends far beyond the dance floor, and this week, I've indulged in a smorgasbord of delights. My first port of call was to Vienna's world-famous shops, looking for the perfect ensemble. And wouldn’t you believe, I stumbled upon the cutest pastel pink top with little tulle details on the shoulders – it’s almost as if it were designed with a pink tutu wearer in mind.

You can’t come to Vienna and not try a Vienna schnitzel – it’s truly a culinary masterpiece, a golden crispy delight that deserves a standing ovation! This week, I dined at a quaint little cafe called Café Sacher, renown for their signature chocolate cake, the Sachertorte. And believe me, it’s as decadent and divine as a ballerina's costume!

Vienna’s vibrant culture is infectious! I saw street performers outside the Vienna State Opera, and they danced their hearts out, and of course, it wouldn't be a proper trip to Vienna without a ride on a magnificent horse-drawn carriage through the streets, gliding past grand palaces and beautiful parks. Just picture me, gliding gracefully in a pastel pink tutu (just the skirt, of course) against a backdrop of this romantic city – the picture of sophistication!

Sharing the Pink Tutu Love:

Speaking of pink tutus, I've been doing my part to spread the pink tutu love, encouraging everyone to wear at least a little bit of pink. Every time I venture out, it feels like a delightful little adventure, with everyone taking notice of my dazzlingly pink presence. You'd be amazed by the compliments I get on my tutu outfits. One lady even confessed that my tutu had inspired her to finally embrace her inner ballerina and get a little pink tulle into her wardrobe. Isn't that just splendid?

As I mentioned before, I've been funding my travels by performing in ballet recitals around the world. And my next performance is already booked. It’s going to be in the heart of Tuscany! Now that's what I call living the dream. I just hope they have a beautiful vintage dress shop, maybe with a selection of antique tutus to take my fancy.

Travel Inspiration:

Here's a little secret for all you pink tutu fans: I've been exploring new ways to bring you all on this amazing journey. Soon, I'll be creating an exclusive pink tutu travel package, allowing you to join me in Vienna (or any other glamorous city I'll be visiting) and experience the world of ballet and fashion through my pink-tinted lens. Stay tuned for updates, my dears.

Until next Wednesday, when I'll be regaling you with even more adventures from Vienna (and perhaps a sneak peek at my Tuscan adventures), keep twirling, keep dancing, and remember – pink tutus are the perfect accessory for every occasion.

With love,

Emma,

The Pink Tutu Ballerina
