Pink Tutu Vienna: Ballet & Bubbles in the City of Waltz - Post 806

Guten Tag, darlings!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for your weekly dose of Pink Tutu Vienna! This week, I'm bouncing with excitement, because Vienna has utterly captured my heart. This city, with its beautiful architecture, charming cafes, and of course, rich history of dance, feels like a fairytale. And you know what makes a fairytale even better?

A pink tutu, of course!

Let's rewind to last week, where I left you gazing at the majestic mountains of Switzerland. You know how much I love train travel, don't you? Those grand railway journeys offer endless inspiration. And this trip was no different, because while admiring the views through the window, a grand idea popped into my head.

What better way to explore the heart of Europe than to hop on the Orient Express? Imagine, darling: the sumptuous interiors, the silver service, the swishing dresses, the twinkling lights. All whilst gliding through Europe, in a train more glamorous than anything in my wildest dreams.

Speaking of dreams, Vienna is the birthplace of the Waltz! That most romantic and graceful dance! This week has been a whirl of twirling, tutus, and tea parties! I've even treated myself to some ballet classes. Let me tell you, there's something quite magical about learning a new dance move whilst surrounded by such history.

Fashion & Fairy Tales

My love affair with Vienna started before I even arrived. I was so excited to indulge in a spot of window shopping. This city, just oozes style. I can't help but want to buy everything I see!

My shopping spree started in the opulent Schröcksnadel, the city's most legendary millinery shop. You know I just had to find a beautiful hat, wouldn't you? I mean, what better way to top off a gorgeous outfit than a touch of the hat? I ended up with a stunning feathered creation in the most gorgeous shade of pink.

Of course, a trip to Vienna wouldn't be complete without exploring the city's fabulous boutiques. And I found myself falling head over heels for a darling dress at Kilian Kern – imagine, a floral print so bright it practically screamed “Spring in Vienna!” You can imagine how thrilled I was! I can't wait to wear it to one of the many enchanting ballrooms I've spotted around the city.

A Whirlwind of Dance & Delights

As you all know, my absolute passion lies in dance. I was absolutely thrilled to catch the Vienna State Ballet at the Vienna State Opera performing Tchaikovsky's timeless masterpiece “Swan Lake.” You could just feel the magic in the air. I'll never forget that shimmering white swan costume. And don’t even get me started on the artistry of those graceful ballet dancers, they made the stage seem like a world of their own. It really was an unforgettable experience.

Speaking of experiences, you wouldn’t believe what I got up to earlier today! After my ballet class, I went on a carriage ride through the Prater, Vienna’s famous amusement park. Imagine it! A magnificent, horse-drawn carriage, me twirling in my pink tutu, gliding past beautiful gardens. It truly felt like a scene out of a ballet.

The highlight of the journey? Taking a whirl on the Giant Ferris Wheel. I can assure you, dear readers, there’s no better way to see the beautiful Vienna skyline than from the very top of that Ferris wheel. It really was a breathtaking view. I even got a glimpse of the Hofburg Palace, that magnificent architectural masterpiece! I think the Viennese love to dance and be entertained just as much as I do!

A Symphony of Sweetness

You all know I can't leave a city without experiencing the local cuisine. I was quite smitten with Vienna’s most famous cake, the Sachertorte. And let me tell you, this delicious treat definitely didn't disappoint! Just the right amount of sweetness and richness.

Then of course, there are those enchanting Viennese cafes, the quintessential coffee shops that give you a glimpse of another era. They're a haven of deliciousness, with elegant cakes, delectable pastries and exquisite coffees. Every cafe I’ve stepped into feels like a timeless masterpiece of warmth and indulgence. And let's not forget the delicious apricot strudel, I can tell you now it’s more delicious than any other I've tasted.

More to Come

So, darlings, this week has been filled with an endless amount of delight, twirling, shopping and indulgence! Vienna has certainly captured my heart and I know this is just the beginning. Stay tuned for next week's Pink Tutu Vienna!
