This week has been a whirlwind of beautiful sights, even more beautiful costumes, and oh-so-many tutus! It feels like I'm living a fairytale in the most spectacular city imaginable.
My journey started with a glorious train ride. Something about the rhythm of the train tracks and the clickety-clack of the wheels just sets my tutu twirling, and itās an essential part of my travel experience. A quick hop across the countryside from Innsbruck and I arrived at Viennaās grand central station, its architecture like a confectionery dream.
The Ballerina's Shopping Spree
Of course, no trip to Vienna is complete without a bit of a fashion splurge. I headed straight to the shops, a tutu twirling trailblazer of pink! Oh, my darlings, Vienna has a wardrobe to die for! Vintage shops overflowing with stunning gowns, beautiful hats that could have come straight from the sets of āThe Sound of Musicā, and - oh my heart - a whole shop dedicated to tiaras! I just knew a few new sparkly additions were coming home with me!
Stepping Into History
I spent a beautiful afternoon at the Vienna State Opera, tracing the history of ballet from its majestic origins to its modern glory. Their collection of ballet costumes is simply mind-blowing! There were fluffy tutus fit for a queen, dramatic black and white ensembles perfect for a gothic ballerina, and colourful, joyous costumes worthy of a Renaissance court. A dancer's dream come true!
And oh, what costumes I've been spotting on the streets! From graceful and refined grandmothers to chic and trendy teens, it's like Vienna is awash in ballet inspiration. Itās truly a joy to see such an elegant city embraced by such graceful style. Perhaps Vienna is the one place in the world where wearing a pink tutu truly doesn't feel out of place!
A Waltz of Romance
But Vienna is not just about beauty and history - itās about music! I was completely swept off my feet by a charming concert featuring Johann Straussās waltzes. The music was divine, the venue exquisite, and the crowd just brimming with happiness. I felt like a fairytale princess right in the heart of Vienna.
And what was on the agenda this Wednesday, you ask? Well, a delightful dance class of course! Not a ballet class in the usual sense, mind you. Vienna is brimming with unique dance classes - waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, Viennese polka... You name it, Vienna's got it. I just have to pick a different dance to learn every day! Iāll keep you all posted about my Viennese dance education, but letās just say - a whole new world of tutus has been opened up!
My Dream of Pink Tutuland

I truly feel like I'm in a ballet fantasyland - and the best part is that Vienna inspires me to live that dream every single day.
