#PinkTutuVienna: Post Number 832 - Waltz with Vienna!

Hello my darlings!

It’s Wednesday, and that means another blog post from your favourite tutu-loving travel writer! I’m so thrilled to be writing to you all from the beautiful city of Vienna, the birthplace of the waltz! My adventures this week have been truly spectacular, filled with a delicious blend of ballet, fashion, and a dash of fairytale magic.

My Viennese Whirlwind:

Vienna is the ultimate waltz! It's the perfect combination of graceful elegance and playful energy. Stepping onto the cobblestones felt like entering a ballroom from a Jane Austen novel, with elegant buildings shimmering in the soft afternoon light. I even found the most charming little shop selling delicate porcelain teacups, perfect for afternoon tea and catching up on my latest ballet books!

The Art of Ballet:

I'm not sure what's more mesmerising - the ornate architecture of Vienna or the magic of the Vienna State Opera. As you all know, a visit to the opera house is a pilgrimage for any ballet enthusiast. I was lucky enough to catch the stunning "Giselle" and the exquisite dancing completely stole my breath. Seeing such powerful technique, expressive artistry, and those dreamy, billowing tutus... truly, it was ballet perfection.

Tutu Travels & A Horse-Drawn Carriage:

Vienna is truly the queen of romantic transport. I hopped onto a vintage tram, admiring its beautiful, worn patina. Later, I was absolutely delighted by a horse-drawn carriage ride, which felt like stepping straight out of a ballet! I even made sure my pink tutu flowed just right in the breeze - there's nothing more charming than a little tutu movement while exploring the city.

The Fashion Scene:

Vienna isn’t just about history and ballet – it’s also about cutting-edge style. I ventured into the city’s fashion district, and I swear, my eyes practically popped out! Gorgeous boutique shops lined the streets, each more dazzling than the last. The perfect outfit was a pastel pink silk dress that was both sophisticated and flirty, topped with my signature, you guessed it - a pale pink tutu. The colour coordination was absolutely flawless, darling! I couldn't resist a few adorable vintage lace trims, too.

A Waltz Through History:

I couldn't resist a tour of the Schonbrunn Palace, which, if you haven't visited yet, I highly recommend! It's every bit as grand as it looks in the photos, and imagining all those elegant waltz parties throughout its history really sends my imagination into a blissful spin. And you just know there were probably tutus involved somewhere along the way!

And Now, Back To England:

Today I bid farewell to the beautiful city of Vienna, though I'm not sure I'll ever truly leave its magic behind. It's so incredibly inspiring to witness the rich history of ballet, and the elegance of the waltzing city has certainly put a skip in my step. The experience has also ignited a new wave of tutu inspiration within me. I can’t wait to share my newly inspired ideas and creative visions for upcoming performances and tutu design sketches.

I’ll be returning to Derbyshire in just a few days to prepare for my next grand ballet performance. You’ve never seen a ballet quite like mine, I promise! My choreographers, a brilliant team of young women, have been hard at work designing the most dazzling performance, inspired by the Vienna’s waltz traditions and my love of pink, of course. The costumes? Think shimmering tutus in the most dazzling shades of pink and lilac, set against a sparkling, romantic backdrop. I think you'll be absolutely enchanted!

Don’t forget to check back here next week for a special blog post all about my upcoming performance! I'll share exclusive behind-the-scenes sneak peeks of the costumes and tell you all about my preparations.

Until next Wednesday, darling, stay stylish and dance like no one's watching (especially if you're wearing a pink tutu!).

Lots of love, Emma x
