Vienna, Vienna, Vienna! My Pink Tutu Adventures (Post #836)

Hello my darling Tutu Tribe! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a fresh pink-tinted dose of travel adventures straight from the heart of Vienna.

Oh Vienna, you've truly stolen my heart! Every cobblestone street, every grand palace, every little cafe oozes with a romantic, almost fairytale-like charm. It's like stepping straight out of a Strauss waltz, all waltzing, swirling and whispering. I feel like I've travelled back in time, wearing my blush-pink tutu, and I'm ready to explore all the wonders of this magnificent city.

And guess what, my dearest readers? This week's adventure is filled with the fluffiest tutus, the most captivating ballet, and oh, the most exquisite pastries!

Vienna's Waltz of the Ballerina

As soon as I arrived, I was swept off my feet by the city's rich cultural heritage, particularly its profound love for ballet. Vienna is home to the world-renowned Vienna State Opera, and this week, the programme was nothing short of spectacular! My jaw dropped the moment I entered the grand opera house; imagine, the most beautiful, golden architecture, twinkling chandeliers, plush velvet seating - it's just...dreamy! And as for the show itself...let's just say the grace of the dancers, the passion of the music, and the sheer brilliance of the entire performance had me utterly enchanted.

Fashion & Frou Frou:

But let's be real, no trip to Vienna is complete without indulging in its sartorial splendour! Now, I'm all about my pink tutu, but you can't deny that this city is home to some serious fashionistas. So I took a stroll down the glorious Mariahilfer Straße, and oh, my word! Every window was a masterpiece. Gorgeous dresses, elegant coats, sophisticated shoes, and the most beautiful jewellery – I could've easily spent the entire afternoon window shopping, but of course, I had to restrain myself. After all, I'm on a tight budget. Well, it's a bit of a delicate dance between buying new outfits and covering my travel costs, you know how it is!

But don't worry, my loves! My bank account might be crying, but my wardrobe is definitely thanking me for a trip to Vienna. I found some fabulous vintage accessories – a delicate brooch with a pink enamel butterfly, a pearl necklace for a touch of regal glamour, and some stunning ballet slippers that just called to me. It’s like they were meant to be in my pink tutu collection!

Viennese Delights

You all know I love to eat as much as I love to twirl, and this week's journey was certainly filled with delicious moments. From the classic Viennese Apfelstrudel with a dollop of creamy vanilla sauce to the mouthwatering Sacher-Torte, I truly tasted the sweet side of Austria. The cakes were simply irresistible! And don't even get me started on the local coffee. Rich, smooth, and brewed to perfection. Ah, Vienna! You know how to pamper a ballerina.

Horsepower and Historic Charm

I must admit, a tiny part of me lives for a romantic, old-fashioned life. And what says romance more than taking a horse-drawn carriage ride through Vienna's historic streets? Oh my goodness! The wind whipping through my pink tutu as the horses clopped through cobblestones, passing magnificent Baroque palaces and the majestic Vienna Hofburg – it was just...unforgettable. The city has such an impressive history, a testament to its past and a beautiful example of Europe's grandeur.

Tutu Travels by Train

But you see, darling Tutu Tribe, there's something truly liberating about hopping on a train, travelling through Europe and immersing myself in its diverse charm. As a dancer, I always enjoy seeing the world at a slower pace, taking time to soak in the landscapes, breathe in the air and enjoy the quiet moments on the journey. It also helps me stretch those dancing muscles, getting ready for the big performance! It’s how I see the world, my way! I love being able to pack my suitcase, my pink tutu of course, my dance shoes and hop on a train to explore Europe! It’s a fabulous feeling to see the continent from the window of a moving train.

Next Week's Pink Tutu Adventures...

But oh my dear readers! I must leave you for now, as the excitement for the upcoming week in Vienna is just bursting to spill out. Think ballet rehearsals, stunning costume fittings, a performance under the grand, shimmering chandelier of the Vienna Opera House… I can hardly contain myself!

Until next Wednesday, when I'll be sharing my backstage experience with you all, don't forget to wear your pink tutu with pride, and may your days be filled with dancing and sunshine!

Until next time,

Love and twirls,

Emma x
