Post #835: Vienna, Waltz and Wonderful!

Oh, darling readers! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for a brand-new Pink Tutu Vienna post! I'm so excited to share with you all the wonderful adventures I've had in this magnificent city – a city brimming with music, history, and, yes, of course, tutus!

A Train Journey To Remember

This week, I travelled from Prague to Vienna on a gorgeous, sleek, crimson-hued train. I love train journeys, they're such a romantic way to travel! Especially when you can enjoy the scenery while rocking your very own pink tutu. (Did you see my new sparkly tutu with the ostrich feathers? You just have to see it!). I met the loveliest couple on board, a Parisian couple celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. The gentleman, a delightful man with twinkling eyes, even danced with me a little waltz!

A Whirlwind Tour of Vienna

As soon as I arrived in Vienna, I was completely swept off my feet. It's simply beautiful, full of imperial grandeur and history. I’ve been exploring every nook and cranny, soaking up the magic of this incredible place!

Vienna's Ballet Heritage

Speaking of magic, did you know Vienna has a fascinating history with ballet? I had a truly inspiring day at the Vienna State Opera, attending a stunning production of "Swan Lake". I gasped with delight at the artistry, the music, the beauty. I was utterly spellbound, completely captivated! Later, I had the chance to tour the opulent building – a ballet fan’s paradise. The ornate stage, the gilded auditorium – it’s like stepping into a fairytale!

Vienna, The City of Waltzes

My love for all things pink, sparkly and beautiful brought me to a most delightful ballet school! The studio, a haven of pink and ivory, offers classes in traditional ballet techniques as well as street dance. They even offer special tutu-making workshops. It's just dreamy! In the afternoon, I donned a shimmering pink dress (couldn't resist) and went for a leisurely stroll through the city’s centre, marveling at the breathtaking architecture of the Hofburg Palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and the Vienna Opera House. It's amazing what you can discover when you slow down and appreciate the beauty around you!

Tutus and Tiaras:

You won’t believe what I stumbled upon on a street corner yesterday – a gorgeous little shop called "Pink Feathers". It's a wonderland of feathers, sequins, rhinestones, ribbons and… tutus! They even have tutus for dogs, you’ll never believe the sight of those cute little doggies wearing their tutus! Of course, I had to indulge my tutu cravings and brought home a shimmering, lilac number (a bit of a departure from my usual pink, but it caught my eye!).

Fashion Forward

No visit to Vienna would be complete without exploring its fashion scene. So, off I went to the heart of Vienna’s luxury district to do some browsing, oohing and aahing at the exquisite gowns, shoes, and accessories. It’s all about vintage glam here, you know! But honestly, my greatest discovery was a cute little boutique called "Fairy Tale Boutique" on a side street, which had a wonderful collection of hand-crafted accessories and tutus in all sorts of beautiful colours!

Dinner and Dancing:

The highlight of this trip, and the perfect end to my adventures so far? I was lucky enough to attend a fabulous Wiener Ball at the beautiful Hofburg Palace! Picture this: shimmering lights, opulent decorations, beautiful ball gowns and gentlemen in tails… I waltzed the night away! They say Vienna has an air of timeless romance, and truly, you could feel it in the ballroom. Oh, it was magical!

The Pink Tutu Revolution

Here’s what I’ve learned: Vienna is the perfect combination of glamour and grace. I’ve been utterly swept away by this beautiful city and its rich culture! Vienna has captured a little piece of my heart (along with the shimmering, lilac tutu, naturally).

This trip has certainly reignited my passion for spreading the tutu-love. So, darling readers, remember to embrace your inner princess and, most importantly, don’t be afraid to wear your heart on your (tutu-ed) sleeve! Remember to stay pink, stay sparkly, and always remember to twirl!

See you next Wednesday!

Love,

Emma, the Pink Tutu Traveller
